Our Wedding

After years of friendship, the pieces fell into place for Michael and me. I am so excited for our future and to marry my best friend. We have endless plans of travel and dreams for the future. Maine has always been a special place to both of us. Separately, we grew up vacationing and traveling to Maine in the summers. Since the start of our relationship, Mike and I visit Maine multiple times a year. We love the area and when we started looking at venues, it just felt right to get married in our favorite place. We are very excited to share our beautiful second home with our family and friends.

Angel and I met in OT school at West Virginia University.  We instantly hit it off and lived together our final two years of college.  Angel is no nonsense, driven, and an honest sounding board that I've called on many times over the years.  Angel has always been an inspiration to me and is the reason I returned to school to pursue my doctorate.  I couldn't imagine not having Angel by my side on my big day.

Fallon and I met through Instagram, of all places.  We both represented the same company and were drawn together through our dogs.  Fallon took a leap of faith in March of 2019 and flew internationally to meet me and stay with my family.  We've been 'inseparable' ever since.  I can count on Fallon for just about anything, she is diplomatic, honest, and gives the most well-rounded advice.

So I met this dude in 1992. He was okay, a little whiney, but I got over it. From wanting to constantly kill each other to now; things have certainly changed. For starters he was always a little guy I could pick on, but unfortunately now I’m the little guy. I have always had this kid’s back, mom and dad made me do it. As we have grown, I’m finding that having a brother is pretty sweet. Chris is my best friend and is always there for me, I couldn’t imagine not having him stand by my side on the big day.

Josh is the cousin I never knew I had. After reconnecting with my family in Maryland I met Josh back in 2015. Since then it has been like a Step Brothers and Hangover movie redux. I can always count on him, especially for advice, not that I always take great advice well. Even though we live far apart he’s never more than a phone call or drive/ flight away. I’m so glad I get to call him family, cousin and another brother.

One of my favorite things about marrying Mike is that I also get to add Emelia to my life. I love this sassy little chick as my own and obviously there was no question she’ll be standing right up there with us.

There are no major hotels near the venue. The closest being near Boothbay Harbor. There are tons of Airbnb, rentals, and bed and breakfasts near the venue. We have contacts for the local property managers and I have an extensive list from the venue. If you would like additional assistance finding places to stay please let us know and I can pass on the longer list. Also, I have some family/friends that would be willing to share space with other guests to cut down in costs. Please reach out if this is something you would be interested in and we will try to pair you up!   **Please keep in mind- Maine is called Vacationland for a reason!! Accommodations 

Maine is a beautiful place that offers so much. In having our wedding out of state, we hope that our family and friends would consider making a little trip out of it. We plan on staying in Maine for the week following the wedding to enjoy some time in our second home. I have compiled a list of our favorite things in hopes that we might convince people to fall in love with Vacationland!

One of the only white sand beaches in Maine and so close to our house. Stay for the day and enjoy the sand and ocean. There are bathrooms and a snack shack - the fish tacos are a must try!

This lighthouse holds a special place in my heart. It’s beautiful and picturesque. Climb on the rocks and take it in from any angle!

Boothbay is one of the bigger tourist towns in the area. There are restaurants, shops, and our personal favorite - Footbridge Brewery!

Boothbay Harbor

About an hour away is the town I grew up going to, Rockland. The Breakwater lighthouse is an awesome walk along the jetty. The town has some nice shops and restaurants. Starting the Wednesday after the wedding with be the Lobster Festival, right in Harbor Park! About 20 mins north of Rockland, is Camden. Pretty touristy with shops and restaurants. A nice harbor and home of Camden Hills State Park. You’ll get a bird’s eye view and can drive to sights or hike for the more adventurous!

If you are feeling extra adventurous, Acadia is just under 3 hours away. It’s a nice scenic drive and there is plenty to do in the National park and in Bar Harbor.

Ten miles out to sea on a nice ferry ride is Monhegan Island. An artist town and very quiet, it’s best known for its hiking. Hiking around the island and taking in the views is breathtaking and the brewery is a great reward! There are two ports to get there, one five minutes from our house and the other is about 45 minutes out of Port Clyde!

They have a tasting room, where you can buy what you taste, but not somewhere to hang out.- Plus so many more! Feel free to ask us our favorites!
