<p>This love story begins with a Christian dating app called Upward. Caleb swiped right on Paige first on a Saturday night, but unfortunately for Caleb, there was no match. Caleb had to wait until Monday night before he got the notification that Paige said yes! Typically on dating apps, the expectation is on the guy to send the first message but Paige sent the first message immediately before Caleb had a chance to say anything. Paige's first message was bold and grabbed Caleb's attention that there was something different and special about this girl. The conversation progressed quickly and the two quickly exchanged phone numbers. After only a week of talking, Caleb made a bold suggestion and asked Paige to come for a visit over the weekend. Caleb and Paige were living three hours apart at the time. For some reason, Paige agreed to drive three hours and spend the weekend with Caleb after only knowing him for a week. Caleb and Paige didn't really have a "first date" in the traditional sense. It was more of a continual date for two straight days. Caleb took Paige on a tour of the town when she first got there and the first "date" that they went on was to Tilt. This is an arcade and mini golf spot in Sioux City. The conversation was easy and the two enjoyed their time even though Paige may have been salty she lost at mini golf. Paige took a snapchat of the two of them that first day that she sent to her best friend. She said in the picture that Caleb was going to be her man. After their first weekend together, they agreed to continue getting to know each other. With living so far apart, their time together was few and far between. The two wouldn't see each other for another couple of weeks until they went to Sam and Melissa's wedding out in Rapid City. After that trip, it was just a matter of time before the two were officially dating. Caleb wanted to make the moment he asked Paige to be his girlfriend special so he waited until he could bring her to Falls Park in Sioux Falls. The two were still living three hours away and only had weekend trips to spend time together and they did their best to prioritize that time for them and their budding relationship. Paige was ready to say the L word before Caleb was, but Caleb wanted to make the first time they said I love you a special moment so he planned to take Paige back to Falls Park where he would tell her he loved her for the first time. Falls Park had become a place for special and happy memories for the couple. They knew that for their relationship to take the next steps, they would have to live closer to one another and so they made plans for Paige to move to Sioux City. During the planning of the move, Caleb was planning the proposal. Caleb knew how special Falls Park was to the couple and wanted to propose there but knew that if he brought Paige to the Falls again, she would be suspicious and Caleb really wanted to surprise Paige with the proposal. So Caleb had his little brother fly in to be the decoy. He played the weekend off like it was all about his little brother and taking him back to where they used to live and reliving some of the places they used to hangout. The decoy worked to perfection as Paige had no idea the proposal was coming until right before it happened. Paige said yes to forever! God's hand brought these two people together. There were many obstacles in their way but at no point did either of them feel like they couldn't make this work. Caleb and Paige felt like they were meant for each other and despite the distance, made it work.</p>

Our Story

Met in Ames at my home care job and she was the family’s babysitter, we instantly clicked and became best friends and also neighbors!! She has played a huge role in my life, helping me to grow deeper into my relationship with Christ, how to navigate a Christ centered relationship, and the ups and downs in between. She is the sister in Christ I have always needed and I love her dearly <3

Sam is one of my oldest friends.  He befriended me when I first moved to South Dakota back in 7th grade.  Sam and his family have been a second family to me at times.  Letting me live with them for a summer during college and taking me in when covid hit.  We bonded over our faith and love for sports.  He's a Bears fan so cut him some slack.  One of my fondest memories of Sam is when we were taking a trip to Minneapolis and before we had even left the driveway, Sam whipped it into reverse, not checking his mirrors, and crushed the front end of my vehicle who just so happened to be parked right behind him.

We met at birth, she is my aunt. We became super close a couple years ago when I moved closer to her and we worked together. She truly lights up every room she walks into and has the biggest, most caring, servant heart. We have since went on vacations together and have shared many memories and tons of belly laughs.

I met Mikey as a freshman in college.  We both lived on the same floor and played baseball together.  There wasn't a lot to do in Orange City so we bonded over our love for sports and video games.  Mikey was always someone I felt like I could go to with anything and he would help me walk through it.  One of my funniest memories of Mikey is form our dorm room in college.  Mikey was cracking open a 2 liter of coke for a drink and he dropped the two liter.  I told him he should probably wait to open it and he said "no big trust."  The two liter exploded and Mikey's solution was to stick the two liter in his mouth and everything shot out of his nose.

I met her in a young professionals church group and come to find out we both thought the other was too cool for us to be friends haha so we became close friends and shared a lot of fun memories while I was living in Ames!

Olivia Penland

Tyler just kind of appeared in my life, not sure where he came from but I am glad he's been a part of it.  We became great friends during high school and that carried into life after school as we were roommates on two different occasions and even made a cross country road trip together. Tyler and I are big golfers and spent a lot of time on the links over the years together.  I consider Tyler to be my good luck charm on the golf course.  He's been present for both of my hole in ones and yes he's not happy that I have two and he has zero.

Caleb connected us in my process of moving to Sioux City and she helped me find my job at st. Luke’s. We have become closer since and have a similar personality that is a little much to others sometimes but makes our friendship soo fun!!

Tia Rodas

I met Josh my freshman year of college.  He and Mikey were roommates and we all lived on the same floor.  We all played baseball together and that's where our friendship grew.  Late night gaming sessions or runs to the hub.  We used to have a little bit of a walk to the cafeteria and one night Josh at something spicy and it worked its way through him and he had to run back to the door to go to the bathroom.  When Mikey and I got back to the dorm we went to check on Josh.  When we walked into the bathroom we saw that Josh has stripped all of his clothes off and they were strewn about the bathroom.  He said it was necessary and that he was "going through it."
