Back in 2010, Paige's brother, Tyler went to Centenary College and played lacrosse. Paige would go and hang out at Tyler's college house and hang out with his lacrosse friends. Tyler had a friend named Eddie Murphy who was Paige's age. One day, Paige was home at her parents house in Randolph and Tyler came home with some college friends, one of them being Eddie. Although Paige does not remember this, Eddie says this was the first time that they had met. Eddie said he walked in to Paige & Tyler's house, Paige walked in and Tyler introduced us. Paige abruptly just said "hi" very rudely and stormed upstairs.
7 years later in 2017, Eddie was with Tyler for the Morristown Saint Patrick's Day Parade and Paige was out with her friends in Morristown as well. Paige knew that Eddie was with her brother and his girlfriend at the time (Keri) at Hops. Paige drunkenly left her friends to go and join her brother at the bar. Paige walked in and saw Eddie and then went to Keri to tell her that she liked Eddie and that he was really cute, although she had never really spoken to him before. Keri went to Tyler and told him that Paige liked Eddie and to just let it happen. Tyler then went to Eddie and said, "What do you think of my sister, she thinks you're cute and if you want to make a move, I'm cool with that." Eddie made sure it was okay, and the rest is history!
Paige had had a very long and emotional week and Eddie texted her on a Wednesday saying "you've had a hard week, let's get dinner on Friday."
Friday came around and Paige was waiting for Eddie to get ready as she was annoyingly texting her friends about how tonight would be a great night for Eddie to propose. Her friends (who knew about it) were like "Paige get over it, he is not proposing!"
As Paige and Eddie were walking out to the car she reminded him to get a mask from his car (Covid Times) and this was actually perfect for Eddie because the ring was in his car. Eddie was taking longer than he should have to get this "mask" and Paige started to get curious and continue to text her friends. They assured me that he was not proposing...again. Eddie got back to the car and shoved this jacket in the back seat and Paige for sure thought that the ring was in there. They got to the restaurant, 4 Seasons, their favorite, and Eddie got out of the car and started heading into the restaurant. Paige then realized Eddie did not grab the jacket that she thought the ring was in and asked him, "Aren't you going to take your jacket..?" Eddie responded with "No.. its hot, why would I need a jacket?"
Paige & Eddie head into the restaurant and Paige knew that she was not getting engaged that night. However, Eddie decided to actually talk about wedding plans with her THE ENTIRE NIGHT. Paige was over the moon that Eddie finally wanted to actually talk details and she could not be happier. The dinner came and went and they headed back to the car.
As Paige & Eddie got to the car, he told her that Keri, Paige's sister in law, had a birthday card for their dog, Maui. Paige really did not think this was weird because it would be something for Keri to do. He told Paige that she had to read the card out loud because he wanted to hear what Keri wrote inside. Paige opened up the card to a photo of Eddie, Paige, and Maui and a handwritten note in definitely not Keri's handwriting and then obviously Paige started to cry. Eddie then came around to where Paige was and got down on one knee and asked her to marry him.
On the way home, Paige was so excited and asked Eddie a million questions about who knew, the details, everything! Eddie said that he only told Keri and that she was at our house with Tyler, our nephew and Paige's dad. When Paige called Keri to tell her, she told her to get home so that we could start celebrating!
Paige then preceded to call every single one of her friends (that were at our house) and not one person answered her, except for Alex. Alex told her this story how she was at dinner with her family and could not really talk. Alex quickly got Paige off of the phone.
When Paige and Eddie pulled around the corner to their house, there were about 15 cars waiting there! Eddie had surprised Paige with a huge party of all of their closest friends!
