David and I met the summer after graduating college through mutual friends. I graduated from Oklahoma State and he graduated from Case Western Reserve. My friend, Sarah Kelly, was out with him and some of his high school friends in Dallas. She texted me saying that she had someone for me to meet. She was also telling him this all night and ended up giving him my phone number. I never expected anything to come of it, but sure enough he texted me the next day, we went on our first date in August, and the rest was history. Now a few years and a couple of dogs later, we are getting married! This is a photo from our first date!

How We Met

The day before Thanksgiving, I was down in Frisco with David and his family. He wanted to go down to the Dallas Arboretum because we had been talking about going for a while and it was a beautiful day. We went to lunch with his family, and then David and I left for the Arboretum. We got there around 2 and started walking around. Of course I had decided to wear heels for some reason so I was already complaining of my feet hurting about 20 minutes into being there. The pumpkin exhibit had already been taken down and there weren't many flowers that were in season so we had seen about everything we wanted to see within about an hour. We continued to walk just enjoying the day and then I suggested we leave since we had seen everything and my feet were hurting. However, David insisted we stay and keep walking around. This is extremely unlike him because he likes to have an agenda and doesn't enjoy just walking around exploring. This is usually something what I like to do and he gives me grief for not liking to have plans. So I thought this was weird but I didn't really think anything of it at the time. He said we should stay until 4 so we kept walking around aimlessly and sitting on different benches. Looking back, I realize he was just trying to kill time. We left the Arboretum around 4pm and headed back to Frisco. We wanted to stop at Target by his parents house and get some puzzles for the weekend because we like to do puzzles when his family is in town. We stopped at target and got the puzzles and after we checked out he said he needed to go to the bathroom. I made fun of him for this because the Target is 1 min from his parents house but he insisted he had to go right then. So I waited about 5 minutes while he went to the bathroom. He later admitted he was frantically texting my friends trying to make sure everything was ready before we headed back to the house.Once we got back to his house, we walked in and he took off running to the dog room. I followed him because I thought he was going to get Beau out of the crate. By doing this, I completely missed all of the decorations that had been set up in the kitchen. I walked around the corner after going through the dog room and saw Beau sitting so perfectly tied to the door. He had a sign around his neck that said "My hoomanz are getting married." I instantly figured out what was going on after I saw Beau and started tearing up. David then jumped down on one knee and quickly said "Will you marry me?" He said he had this entire speech planned but got too nervous. We then walked outside where the gazebo in the backyard was wrapped with lights and there were candles, photos and flowers all around. This was actually where he was intending on proposing but got too nervous. Meanwhile, Beau was busy chewing up the sign around his neck and thought this was the perfect time to go potty.We walked back inside and my friends and sister who had been hiding watching out of the window came out. They were all so confused because David didn't propose outside like he had planned and were concerned that Beau was chewing up the sign and taking care of his business. They had come down from OKC that day to decorate and set everything up so now it made sense as to why David had been trying to stall all day. There were beautiful white flowers, photos, and candles set up everywhere. We took lots of pictures and opened champagne to celebrate. We then all went to dinner at Capitol Grill where a lot of David's friends were. David had reserved a private room and we all enjoyed dinner and got to celebrate with our friends. It was a wonderful day!

Sarah and I&nbsp;met our freshman year of&nbsp;college and have remained close ever since. She introduced me to David so technically we owe her for this&nbsp;entire thing. She has lived in Dallas since graduating from Oklahoma State so I&nbsp;am able to see her a lot while visiting David in Dallas. She is such a fun friend and I&nbsp;can always count on her for anything.&nbsp;She currently works in medical device&nbsp;sales at Orthofix in Dallas.

Sarah Kelly

Tim played basketball with David at Case Western Reserve, where he majored in finance. He is originally from Seoul, Korea. Chung specialized in three point&nbsp;shooting and was one of the best in Case history. He works for a data consulting firm, Cervello, in Addison, Texas.

Tim Chung

Brian, another CWRU&nbsp;Spartan, played basketball for two years with David.&nbsp; Brian majored in Accounting, the same as David, and they had many classes together throughout college.&nbsp; Brian received a Masters in Accountancy from the University of Georgia and currently works for KPMG as an auditor.&nbsp; He currently resides in Amsterdam.&nbsp;

Brian Curth

Skylar is my younger sister (age 23). She graduated from the University of Oklahoma&nbsp;this past May and&nbsp;is currently in her 1st year of law school at Oklahoma City University. I can always count on her to keep me up to date on what is in style and she brings another Golden Retriever, Owen, to our pack.&nbsp;

Skylar Pasquali

Evan went to Case Western Reserve where he met David. He played basketball for one year and some change, but quit when he went home for Christmas one year and decided he did not want to go back. The head coach for the Spartans wished Evan a "very merry Christmas" amongst other things that year. Evan majored in finance and went on to get his JD, MBA from Boston University. He currently works for Akin Gump in New York City.

Whitni is my youngest sister (age 17). She will be graduating from high school this year and attending college (location TBD)&nbsp;this Fall. She is a great dancer and I&nbsp;am so proud of all she has accomplished.&nbsp;She also has the original Golden Retriever, Buster.&nbsp;

Whitni Simpson

Coralee and I&nbsp;met our first day of medical school.&nbsp;&nbsp;She likes to tell the story of how I&nbsp;told her I&nbsp;had&nbsp;"just started dating this guy but it probably wouldn't work out because I&nbsp;was starting med school and he was starting law school." She is my running coach and party planner and I&nbsp;would never turn anything in&nbsp;on time without her.&nbsp;As much as I&nbsp;tried to convince her to do pediatrics, she is going into OB-GYN after graduation.&nbsp;

Coralee Toal

Tom attended Case Western Reserve where he majored in finance. Tom played basketball at Case where he finished the second all time leading rebounder. He also averaged over four fouls a game his senior year and was ejected in his final game as a Spartan. He later attended law school at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh. He now is a practicing lawyer at Summers, McDonnell, Hudock, &amp; Guthrie in Pittsburgh.

Tom Summers

Kristen and I&nbsp;met the summer right before medical school started. She loves all things Disney, Seaside,&nbsp;Christmas, and pups, so obviously we were meant to be great friends. She loves my dogs and I&nbsp;can always count on her to watch them if I'm out of town or pick them up from daycare. She will be starting her residency in Neurology after graduating from med school this summer.

Kristen Veal

Tim is another Case Western graduate.  He played basketball for three years for the Spartans and leads the team in most cups of water drunk on the bench in a career.  Tim majored in chemical engineering at Case.  Tim currently works as a Data Analyst for Liquidity Services in Washington DC. 

Tim Maleski

Cody attended Case Western Reserve with David. He majored in finance. Originally from New Philadelphia, Ohio, he currently works for Cardinal Health in Columbus, Ohio, where he met his fiancee, Meghan.

Cody "Chip" Cox

Sarah and I&nbsp;both went to Oklahoma State but didn't really get to&nbsp;know each other until the summer before&nbsp;medical school. Sarah is the life of the party and LOVES the pokes.&nbsp;She also has a dog she brings to our pack, Nash. Nash is Beau's best friend and actually taught him how to go on walks!&nbsp;Sarah is also going into OB-GYN after graduating from med school.

Sarah Mashburn

Taylor and I&nbsp;met our freshman year of undergrad at Oklahoma State during Freshman Follies and have remained close ever since. I&nbsp;can always count on her to have a great time no matter if we are going out, being lazy watching gossip girl, or at a Mavs game.&nbsp;She is currently living in Tulsa, OK, where she is a business analyst who manages Oil &&nbsp;Gas clients.

Taylor Manes

Drew went to Case Western Reserve with David.&nbsp; Drew was an accounting major and graduated from Case in 2014.&nbsp; Drew played football for Case and is most famous for his stellar offensive line play for the Spartans.&nbsp; Drew works for&nbsp;Eaton Corporation and currently lives in Cleveland.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Luke went to Butler University.&nbsp; He moved to Plano, Texas after accepting a position with Crossmark, where he met Tim Chung.&nbsp; &nbsp;David met Luke while he attended SMU&nbsp;Law School.&nbsp; Luke currently works for Dr. Pepper and lives in Dallas.&nbsp;

Luke Yost

Kanika and I&nbsp;also met our first year of medical school. She and I&nbsp;spent lots of time studying together and never complained when I&nbsp;would often want to switch study spots because I&nbsp;didn't like the "vibe."&nbsp;She is one of the most fun people I&nbsp;know and always knows how to make everyone around her have a great time. She is going into Internal Medicine (and eventually Cardiology)&nbsp;after graduation.&nbsp;

Kanika Garg

Kushal is David's oldest friend.&nbsp;&nbsp;The two became friends in kindergarten and have remained friends through college and beyond.&nbsp; Kushal attended the University of Oklahoma, where he majored in Economics and&nbsp;Finance.&nbsp; Kushal currently works as a Management Consultant for Accenture and is based in Dallas.&nbsp;

Kushal Gulati

Elizabeth is David's younger&nbsp;sister&nbsp;(age 22.)&nbsp;She graduated from WPI&nbsp;in Worcester, MA this past May. She initially went to school for engineering but discovered that she wanted to pursue something related to her love for foreign languages. She knows several different foreign languages and is continuing to learn others!&nbsp;She is currently teaching English to high school students in Austria.

Elizabeth Thompson

Poppy's dad, JP, is in my medical school class. My friends and I have always loved his wife Molly and&nbsp;pretty much became inseparable with their family after Poppy was born.&nbsp;We got to meet&nbsp;this sweet baby girl 2 days after she was born and have fortunately been able to watch her grow up into this smart, independent, funny, dog-loving two&nbsp;year old. We hang out with the Perkins at least once a week and are so thankful we are able to be a part of Poppy's life. Sometimes JP&nbsp;gets lucky and David will be there to hang out, but most of the time it's just JP&nbsp;and all of the girls.

Poppy Perkins 

Molly is Poppy's mom and we met her our 1st year of medical school though her husband,&nbsp;JP, who was in our class. My friends and I&nbsp;instantly clicked with Molly and would always ask JP&nbsp;to hang out so we could hang out with Molly. We became even closer to them once Poppy was born and now are with them regularly. Molly is so fun and is always down to play cards and drink wine. Thanks for being my constant supplier of lipsense and Poppy time!

Molly Perkins

I&nbsp;met Elizabeth my first year of medical school. She is one of the nicest people you will ever meet and such a fun person to go on a trip with!&nbsp;She is also getting married this year (in May)&nbsp;and she met her fiancé Patrick around&nbsp;the same time I&nbsp;met David.&nbsp;Elizabeth is going into Radiology after graduation.
