What should I wear? Is there a dress code?

The dress code is Semi Formal or Dressy Casual.

What will the weather be like this time of year?

The beginning of May is generally mild, sometimes breezy, with a mix of sun and clouds. Average high of 67 degrees and low of 59 degrees. Please be advised to bring warm layers and an umbrella as it is spring time and the weather can be unpredictable.

Where are the ceremony and the reception taking place?

The Palm Tree Barn 4496 Whittlesey Ave, Norwalk, OH 44857 The ceremony will be held to the left behind the barn. Cocktail hour will follow after and will be held behind and in the barn. The reception will be held in the barn.

Will the ceremony and reception be indoors or outdoors?

The ceremony will be taking place in an outdoor smaller white chapel barn located behind and to the left of the barn. We recommend flat-soled shoes or wedges to avoid sinking into the grass. Cocktail hour will be held behind and inside the barn. The reception will be held indoors in the barn. In case of rain the ceremony will be held indoors.

What happens after the ceremony?

Celebrate! After the ceremony, the wedding party will be taking pictures nearby for around an hour. Guests can head straight to the barn, where we will be serving finger foods and beverages during a cocktail hour. There are 2 bars. One is located outside in a silo and the other is located inside next to the dance floor and bathroom.

What time should I arrive?

The ceremony will start at 3:30pm.

Where should guests park?

Guests can park in the grass area in front of the barn. Please be mindful when parking as there is limited parking and a large guest list. Please park respectfully.

Are kids welcome?

While we love your little ones, our wedding will be an adults-only event so that everyone can relax and enjoy the evening. We appreciate you making arrangements ahead of time and leaving the kids at home so you can celebrate with us! The only children allowed are the kids that are part of the wedding party.

Can I bring a plus one?

Unfortunately, we have a strict guest list to stay on budget. Our celebration is strictly RSVP only. We will only be able to accommodate those listed on your wedding invitation. Unless discussed otherwise. However if your invitation said family than all of the immediate family is invited.

When is the RSVP deadline? Do I need to mail back my RSVP or can I do it online?

Are the ceremony and reception location wheelchair accessible?

Yes. There is only one small step located with a yellow floor marker in the middle of the barn stepping down from the dance floor into the seating area. This can be avoided by going around the barn. The ceremony will be held 160 feet from the barn and you will be walking in grass. The terrain may be tricky for those using wheelchairs, walkers, canes or other accessibility aids. 

Will there be food and drinks during cocktail hour?

After the wedding ceremony, we will be serving charcuterie appetizers accompanied by an open bar. We invite you to toast to our nuptials with a curated selection of wine, beer and cocktails.

Will dinner be served at the reception? What kind of food?

Will you be providing shuttle?

A shuttle will be provided to transport between the venue and Kalahari for the out of town people.
