Nate and I first met apparently in kindergarten at our little private school but wouldn’t realize that until much later. We met again during the Covid days hanging out with our friends. We both have a vivid memory of hanging out at the side of the room together talking all night. So when I had to bring a date to a party, of course I had to make it fun and write a poem for the guy I barely knew and ask him if he would be my date. Shortly after we went our separate ways back to college but continued to make the effort to see each other whenever we could. They say God has a plan and I truly believe that after tearing my knee for a second time ending my soccer career but giving us that time to see each other every weekend, rather than maybe once a month. Since then, Nate has always been my adventure and travel buddy, pushing me to try new hobbies (golf being my favorite), going to new places and of course, going to every country concert we can.
The Proposal: Nate had just accepted a job in Texas and told me we should go to Bridge Park to celebrate. We have been to bridge park many times before but never walked over the bridge, so he got me out on the bridge to check it out. He proposed there, and out popped two of our best friends taking pictures of us. It was truly a special moment; I just wish he noticed my tag sticking out BEFORE the proposal LOL. From there he surprised me with all of our family and friends at pins to make the proposal even more special.
Nate and I will be moving to Dallas, Texas together here soon, where we will be working, and focusing on how to keep our husky cool. From there, he can live out his cowboy dreams.
