Things to Do

Welcome to Oregon!

Hood River is a charming city about an hour east of Portland. Relax and check out the local shops, art galleries, wineries, breweries, and many fabulous restaurants. Take a walk along the riverfront and watch the windsurfers, or drive up HWY-35 and check out the fruit loop. More info can be found on things to do in Hood River here!

We hope that you enjoy the city as much as we do!

Extending your stay?

If you're a foodie...Portland has an amazing food scene. A few of our favorite restaurants are Bamboo Sushi, Ava Genes and Mediterranean Exploration. Eater also has tons of great recommendations.

If you love shopping...Oregon has tax-free shopping! Lots of amazing shops - including big brands, indie brands, vintage, and boutiques. A few places we love to shop & stroll around:

- Portland Neighborhoods: NW 23rd, N Mississippi Ave, SE Hawthorne Blvd

- Shopping Centers: Bridgeport Village, Washington Square Mall, Cascade Station

If you love the coast & scenic drives...Head out to the Oregon Coast! Cannon Beach is a fan favorite, and is roughly ~1-1.5 hours from Portland. Make sure you stop by Bruce's Candy Kitchen and grab saltwater taffy.

If you love wine...The Willamette Valley is known for award-winning wines, including Pinot Noir. Some wineries require appointments/reservations for tastings vs walk-ins, it's recommended to check first.

If you love the outdoors...Portland's Forest Park is a large urban forest that is great for walks or hikes. Popular entry points are Lower Macleay Park and Upper Macleay Park.
