Things to Do

Places to Eat!

One of our favorite things to do is go out to eat and boy does Charleston have a lot of great spots to go! With the Food & Wine Festival in town, please be aware that reservations might be hard to get!

Favorite Restaurants:

This list is by no means all encompassing and there are so many great spots all along King street and the surrounding areas. Most of the below spots serve lunch and dinner, so don't feel limited by how we categorized them!

Great Spots for Dinner (that all accept reservations):

-Melfis -Sean's favorite bar stool in Charleston! Don't skip the sorta spicy caesar salad and the tavern style pizza!

- 167 Sushi Bar-: Small restaurant with limited seating but some of the best sushi we've ever had. Original location of 167 Raw

- Vern's-: cozy, American farm to table with a unique, biodynamic wine list run by a husband & wife duo.

- FIG: still one of the best spots in Charleston, a fancier dining experience

-Halls: if you can't get a reservation, the bar at this iconic steakhouse is a great spot to grab dinner and an Espresso Martini

- Little Jack's Tavern: casual pub style dining, great atmosphere

- Le Farfalle: excellent Italian food in a larger space

- Marbled & Fin: New to Charleston and a unique spin on a traditional steakhouse.

Lunch & Brunch:

- 167 Raw: -no reservations, get there early to put your name in! 167 Bar right around the corner is a great spot to grab a drink or bite while you wait for your table.

- Husk Bar: tiny spot right around the corner from the main Husk Restaurant (which is also great) - amazing burger

-Basic Kitchen - sister restaurant to Post House, healthy option!

-Post House: in Mount Pleasant about 20 mins from downtown, our go to spot for brunch/lunch and an amazing burger. Also scene of our engagement photos.

- Minero -on John's Island on the way out to Kiawah if you feel like an adventure!

- The Obstinate Daughter - on Sullivan's Island, a great way to spend a couple hours for a beach day, walking to see some gorgeous houses, and maybe a little shopping too!

-Millers All Day - right in the heard of downtown on King Street, a perfect place to grab an amazing brunch.

BBQ- where the Philly debate is where to get the best cheesesteak, the Charleston debate is who has the best BBQ. We ranked our favorites for you below, but they're right around the corner from each other if you want to try all three!

1) Lewis BBQ

2) Hometeam BBQ

3) Rodney Scotts

Easy Grab & Go/Coffee:

Spread Bagelry - a philly favorite followed us down South!

The Daily - oat milk matcha lattes!

Bodega- right around the corner from the hotels
