It all started with a swipe on Coffee Meets Bagel. Pam liked his self description which included a love for “a good scotch and a bold red”. David liked her beautiful smile and her adventurous pictures. After a few text exchanges, they agreed to meet in person. He offered her 2 options: 8am or 12:15pm, and Pam obviously opted for the latter. David swept her off her feet by romancing her with coffee at Starbucks (he defends himself by saying it was from the reserve counter). The conversation was so natural and easy, and 45 mins flew by before both had to rush back to the office. Pam gushed to her coworkers that she had met her soul mate. David boarded a plane that evening without any idea that his life would be forever changed.

Over the next few months, David and Pam didn’t talk much. Between Covid restrictions and quarantine, they were ships in the night which made it difficult to start a new relationship. According to David, Pam’s WhatsApp game is very weak so it is her fault, but he still dropped off a bottle of wine and her favorite cookie from Baker and Bottleman while she was in quarantine. After getting out of quarantine, she offered to buy him a glass of big bold red to say thanks. What started out as 1 glass ended up being 3 bottles, and the rest is history!

Despite living in different countries (for now), David and Pam have built a home together by seeing each other as often as possible whether it’s in HK, SG or in different corners of the world. With the help of Marriott Bonvoy, their love continues to thrive. They don’t know where they’ll ultimately end up, but that’s okay as long as they’re together.
