Let's Turn a Good Friday into a Great Friday

We said "yes", and we want you to as well. Join us in celebrating the beginning of the rest of our lives.

It all started in 1999, at a party that would change everything. I was there with my best friend, Kiki, who just so happened to be Tony's cousin. As the night unfolded, our paths crossed—briefly at first but something about the way he smiled lingered in my memory.

Over the years, Kiki and I stayed close, and so did I with Tony's family. As time went on, I became just as close to his sister, Wendy. We spent countless family gatherings together, and with each one, I found myself stealing glances at Tony. There was always something about him that I couldn't shake. And yet, life moved us in different directions.

But, deep down, I always had a place for him in my heart. A small whisper of "what's meant to be will be" seemed to cross my mind often.

Then, on my thirty-seventh birthday, fate stepped in. I decided to send Tony a simple text. It felt like no time had passed at all, and before I knew it, we were talking every day. The connection that had been there all along began to flourish. Days turned into weeks, and our conversations deepened into plans for the future, including one very big plan: marriage.

Fast forward to Good Friday, March 29th, 2024. Tony and I were sitting in his garage, chatting as we always did, then, as if the moment was somehow perfectly scripted, he turned to me and handed me a small box. I opened it, and inside was an old, tarnished ring—the very one I thought I had tossed out months ago. I laughed and tossed it back to him, teasing him about his choice of “vintage” jewelry.

But then, without missing a beat, Tony dropped to one knee, pulling from his pocket my beautiful engagemnet ring. His eyes locked with mine, and he said, “Let’s turn a Good Friday into a Great Friday.”

My heart raced as everything came rushing back—the years, the moments, the “what could have been” that had finally led us here. And with a smile, I yelled, “YES!”

And just like that, after all the years and all the waiting, we found ourselves right back where we belonged. Together.
