Once a royal residence to King Henry VIII and Princess Elizabeth I, Ashridge House is set in 190+ acres of beautiful landscaped land. Explore the Grade II registered historic gardens at Ashridge House. There is plenty to discover!
The venue has complimentary bikes on property.
Ashridge House has a simple fitness center with a sauna and indoor pool available for use by anyone staying on property.
The Main House is closed to the public and will only be fully accessible during the wedding on May 26th.
There is a a cafe, The Bakehouse, great for coffee, lunch and snacks on-site as well as a full service dinner restaurant and bar, Acres and The Vault. We advise making dinner reservations if you are interested in dining at Acres on Saturday, May 25th.
Berkhamstead is a quintessential English town set amongst the Chiltern Hills just 4 miles from Ashridge House. Most of what you need is located on the high street or along the River Bulbourne.
We haven't sampled everything in town but when it comes to food and drink, Berkhamstead has plenty of cute coffee shops, characterful pubs, fine dining and everything in between! Sip on some local ales at The Boat or The George Inn, recover with brunch or coffee at Plates, enjoy a traditional English Indian at The Fat Buddah or for finer dinning, try Tabure or Prime.
