Kaylena Marie's Bakery- Breakfast and lunch options with giant cinnamon rolls.
Breadhive- all sourdough bread and bagels, great for breakfast or lunch. They do get busy, so ordering ahead online is recommended.
Remedy House- A great place for an egg on a roll and a variety of coffees.
Dinner
Lucky Day Whiskey Bar- our first date spot and favorite restaurant in the city. We take everybody here.
Hutch’s- favorite fine dining restaurant, consistently amazing.
Brick Oven Bistro- lunch or dinner, Tom loves the steak sandwich and Pat loves the chicken artichoke sandwich. They’re also open for brunch on Sundays.
Gino’s on Elmwood- Tom’s favorite pizza, thin crust. (Not Buffalo style)
SATO on Elmwood- Our favorite sushi and ramen.
Family Thai- favorite take out spot, order on DoorDash.
Something Sweet
Butterblock- homemade pastries and croissants.
Watson’s- favorite chocolate shop, try the sponge candy! Tom loves the dark chocolate sea salt caramels. Pat loves the chocolate covered pretzels.
Fran Ceils- best custard, Tom loves the pistachio or orange swirl. Pat loves the hot fudge sundae or a twist with rainbow sprinkles. Check the website for the weekly flavor.
Lake Effect- best hard ice cream, so many interesting and delicious flavors.
Breweries/Bars
BriarBrother’s- favorite brewery and best chicken sandwich of all time.
Belt Line Brewing- Tom’s favorite hot dog.
Ballyhoo- fun cocktails and delicious house made sausages.
Big Ditch Brewing- Good reuben and good beers
Gypsy Parlor- best dive bar with really good fusion food. Try the Banh Mi poutine!
Gene McCarthy’s- Corner bar with great wings
Duende- hidden gem in the silos with fun cocktails and a really cute outdoor area.
Activities
Delaware Park- biggest park in the city. A nice place to walk, relax, or take a flamingo row boat out on Hoyt Lake.
The Basilica- Father Baker’s church full of Italian marble and beautiful sculptures. There’s a museum in the basement that covers Father Baker’s life and a lot of Buffalo history. The church is free and open to the public.
Striker’s- bowling alley with good wings
Elmwood Village- lots of local artists and little shops, fun to walk around and window shop
Albright Knox- one of the oldest art museums in the country, right near Elmwood Village and Delaware Park.
Elmwood Farmers market- 8am to 1pm Saturdays, tons of vendors selling a variety of produce, baked goods, and local favorites.
