Shannon and Patrick met as zip line tour guides at Berkshire East Canopy Tours in Charlemont, MA, across the valley from their wedding location.
Over the summer they bonded through outdoor activities such as swimming, hiking, BBQing, and of course, ZIP LINING. Guests would often comment on their chemistry and weren't surprised when they revealed that they were, in fact, dating!
Their first date was on July 10th at the town of Rowe's Old Home Day. Patrick planned the night to include the chicken barbecue and kayak paddling out onto the lake to watch the fireworks.
(Feel free to ask the couple for the extended version of the date)
The two moved to St Johnsbury, VT in November of 2013 to pursue a new chapter in life. Shannon had received a job offer at the Western Ave Vet Clinic as a veterinary technician, and Patrick quickly found a job at the local ski area, Burke Mtn. He is currently employed at the Schwan's Food Company as a Route Sales Rep.
Their loving family includes their three cats, Casey, Gus, and Rue; their pit-bull Vera, and Morgan horse Zim.
Patrick proposed on their fifth dating anniversary. With the ring burning a hole in his pocket; they set out on a hike to a mtn top view of the VT landscape as suggested by a friend. Unbeknownst to them they had immediately started out in the wrong direction.
After hours of hiking, and ultimately bushwhacking to what their GPS said was the summit, they decided to turn back.
The determined husband-to-be suggested that they go swimming to cool off from the arduous adventure. Patrick set up his camera by the Passumpsic River for an anniversary photo. While the camera was actually taking video, Patrick dropped down to one knee, surprising and delighting his now fiancée.
