We first dated in 2015 when Patrick was a senior in high school and I was a sophomore. We were each other's first boyfriend and girlfriend. When May came around, Patrick graduated and was on his way to Virginia Tech. I ended things with Patrick because he was about to be many hours away, and it is safe to say that I will never live that conversation down… :)

Fast forward six years to 2021, Patrick went to Rome for his high school reunion and I also went home for my sister's homecoming dance. We both ended up in the same bar with our friends and like to think it was almost like a movie scene when we saw each other across the room. We small talked as much as you can in a loud, crowded bar and met the next morning at Starbucks to catch up on the past few years of our lives. I was one month away from graduating from Auburn and Patrick had just been accepted into medical school at Tulane. We parted ways to New Orleans, LA and Auburn, AL with coffee in hand and knew that this was not the end of our story.

After weeks of Facetime calls, Patrick came to Auburn from New Orleans for a sorority event. It was the most life changing weekend of our life. We knew after a few short days that our story was just beginning. We brainstormed how we could make this work with jobs, medical school, locations, plans, etc. and things began to fall into place. After a few more visits to each other's cities, I applied to schools in New Orleans, got an apartment, got a job, and moved July 22, 2022.

Exactly one year of living in the same city allowed us to support each other in our first years of school and teaching, and showed us that we were ready for forever. On July 22, 2023, Patrick asked me to marry him and it is my greatest honor to spend the rest of my days with him! We look forward to celebrating with you and are extremely grateful for our amazing friends and family! Please join us in prayer for this next chapter of our life! We cannot wait to see you all very soon!
