Patrick and Eli met freshman year of college at Truman State University in Kirksville, Missouri. Eli's friend (and now bridesmaid) Jess introduced the two at the Missouri Dining Hall. After college, both Patrick and Eli moved back to St. Louis. Patrick proposed in Forest Park on July 20th, 2023 because it was the place where he first realized he wanted to marry Eli.
