At the end of summer 2019, we matched on the dating app Hinge. As we quickly realized, we both had a deep appreciation for music and enjoyed time in record stores. I didn't know that Patrick had hundreds of records yet. Patrick suggested Easy Street Records in West Seattle as our first date. On September 14th, we met in person for the first time, spent a long while talking over coffee and then flipping through the crates. When we went to check out, Patrick said he wanted to buy me a record and it was the Ramsey Lewis "Sun Goddess" record. I hadn't listened to Ramsey Lewis, but soon fell for his funky record and for the very cool white guy who bought me the record.

Since that first date, our lives have been full of friendship, caring for Ramsey and Buddy (our fur babies), roadtrips, delicious meals, growing plants and moving our hundreds of records to new homes. Last year, we fulfilled a big dream of buying a house and land to grow on. This new adventure includes renovating the 1971 house; growing fruit trees, veggies and many flowers (dahlias!); and at some point adding chickens to the farm.

We celebrate our anniversary as the day we met on September 14th. This year we will get to celebrate our 5th year anniversary with you all!

Al final del verano de 2019 nos emparejamos en la aplicación Hinge. Nos dimos cuenta rápidamente que los dos teníamos un profundo amor por la música y nos gustaba matar el tiempo en tiendas de discos de vinilo. Yo no sabía todavía que Patrick tenía cientos de discos. Patrick sugirió encontrarnos para nuestra primera cita en Easy Street Records en West Seattle. El 14 de septiembre nos encontramos por primera vez a tomar cafe y comprar discos. Al momento de pagar, Patrick me dijo que quería comprarme un disco y ese disco era "Sun Goddess" de Ramsey Lewis. Yo no había escuchado a Ramsey Lewis pero rápidamente me enamora de esa onda y del gringo chévere que me compró el disco.

Desde entonces nuestras vidas han estado plenas de camaradería, cuidando a Ramsey y a Buddy (nuestros bebés peludos), aventuras por la carretera, comidas deliciosas, cultivando plantas y trasteando nuestros cientos de discos de casa en casa. El año pasado logramos el gran sueño de comprar una casa con terreno para sembrar. Esta nueva aventura incluye renovar la casa construida en 1971, sembrar árboles frutales, cultivar vegetales y flores (¡dahlias!) y en algún momento agregar gallinas a la finca.

Patrick y yo celebramos nuestro aniversario el dia en que nos conocimos, el 14 de Septiembre. ¡Este año queremos celebrar nuestro quinto aniversario con todos ustedes!
