Patrick and Sarah met in 2017 through mutual friends at UW Platteville, but didn’t start talking until early 2020. Despite having an unconventional 1st date thanks to COVID and Sarah’s shoulder surgery recovery, the connection was instant. There have been a few job changes, moves (including a new house!!!), and plenty of adventures together.

When Patrick and Sarah visit Minocqua, one of their favorite spots to visit was Patrick’s late grandparents dock. Up until the property was sold, Patrick took the same picture of Sarah sitting on the dock facing the lake whenever they visited. On November 18, 2023, Patrick told Sarah the new owner had given them permission to stop by. Patrick took Sarah’s traditional photo, but when she turned around to grab her phone, he was down on one knee. Sarah was so excited that Patrick put the ring back in the box because he was worried it would fall in the water! Needless to say, the answer was "yes!"
