Patrick and Allie’s love story began in high school when Patrick was a junior and Allie was a senior. Fate (and their school’s scheduling system) placed them in the same gym class, though their relationship didn’t exactly blossom over dodgeball games. Instead, it was Twitter that brought them together. One day, Allie sent out a classic tweet: “Like for an honest DM.”Little did she know, that simple tweet would lead to her first conversation with her future husband. Patrick liked the post, Allie sent the message, and soon enough, they were off on their first date—to the Omaha Zoo.

From that first date, it didn’t take long for them to realize they had something special. They spent as much time together as possible, and Patrick, not wanting to waste a moment, asked Allie to be his girlfriend. The summer of 2017 was filled with memories, knowing that come fall, Allie would be heading off to Hastings College to play soccer.

Though the distance was tough, Patrick made the drive whenever he could—even bending a few dorm rules to stay with her. But before long, Allie decided to transfer to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, where Patrick would be attending after graduating high school. It was an easy choice—being together just felt right.

Their time at UNL was filled with unforgettable moments: cheering on the Huskers, tailgating with friends, and making the most of college life—even during the chaos of COVID. Greek life also played a role in their journey, with Patrick joining Fiji and Allie in Pi Phi, where she proudly got pinned.

After graduation, they took their next big step—moving in together. They quickly made their apartment feel like home, but something was missing. Both huge boxer lovers, they couldn’t resist getting a puppy, and that’s how their beloved Nala joined the family.

A year later, Patrick was ready to make things official. For their sixth anniversary, he planned a special night, taking Allie to dinner before bringing her back to an apartment decorated with balloons, rose petals, and memories from their years together. When he got down on one knee, there was no hesitation—Allie said “yes!”

Through the years, they had always talked about moving somewhere new, and in June 2024, they finally took the leap, packing up their life and heading to Jacksonville, Florida. Before their big move, in true spontaneous fashion, they decided to make it official at the courthouse. Now, they can’t wait to celebrate their love with all their friends and family this June!
