Getting around in Portugal is best experienced in a car. However, the intercity bus and train system isn't too bad, and can be used to get you around cheaply.

Once you are in Portugal, and depending on how long you are staying, there are a few places close to the venue that we recommend you going to:

Lisbon

As the capital of Portugal, you will find many monuments, museums, walks and view points, as well as restaurants and bars.

Food:

Time out Market:

A massive food hall with every all-star cuisine you can imagine. Pretty cool place and the food is good as well.

Michelin: Links

Note that a few Michelin restaurants do lunches or business lunches which can run much cheaper (<€100 per person) than a full dinner menu at the same quality.

Pastel de nata (typical Portugese egg based dessert)

Confeitaria da Gloria - won best Pastel in 2023

Padaria da Né - 2nd best for those that can settle.

Belem - The traditional one thats also amazing.

Sintra

A romantic small town that is definitely worth a visit, with a moorish castle, a palace and a few other sites to spend a full day or two, depending on your interests.

Train rides from Lisbon city center takes around 1 hour, and busses are also available if you dont have a car.

Mafra

Small rustic town with famous for the Palace-Convent, the largest edifice in Portugal, built in the 18th century.

It is difficult to reach by public transport, we would definitely recommend taking a car.
