Paul and Cassie met while they were engineering tour guides at the University of Iowa. They became fast friends and were able to navigate the challenges of engineering together.

Paul visited Cassie in Costa Rica during their senior year. They got even closer and had the realization that they could be great partners! The global pandemic hit while traveling through Costa Rica together which allowed them to grow closer during that time. 



Cassie moved to Minneapolis and Paul stayed in Iowa City. Long distance is never fun, but since Cassie worked remotely she was able to be with Paul in Iowa City for longer trips. This allowed their relationship to flourish! 



Cassie’s job stayed remote so after two years of long distance, Cassie (and Saki) decided to move back to Iowa City! 



After 8 months living together in Iowa City, Paul proposed to Cassie at Cave Point County Park in Door County. Door County has a big place in their hearts and knew it would be the perfect place to say their ‘I do’s’.
