Our Story

Paul's take

Picture of Paul's take

Bekah and I first "met" in a physics lab. The professor had arranged the lab in tables with small groups of three and four people. I initially went to a table with some friends in a group of four but, unfortunately, only three people were to reside at that table. My sister's table, on the other hand, had three people and needed four. Dr. Frisch asked one person to leave our table for theirs and in the awkward silence that ensued, I decided that it might be a good idea to leave because I knew my sister was a hard worker and intelligent. Six months later, I asked one of the other ones (also hard-working and intelligent) on a date up on the public high school roof.

On January 24, 2015, we went on our first date. I thought about asking Bekah to go on a coffee date but as I stuttered to her while asking her out, that seemed a little lame. Thus, we embarked on a climb onto the high school roof. We actually ended up spending almost three hours up there, much of it lying on a steel section of the roof above the entrance, talking.

Our next date we borrowed an apartment from some upperclassmen to cook food, the next we went snowshoeing and cross country skiing, and from there the days and the dates blur. The months flew by, featuring highlights such as zoo dates, 3000minutes/month phone times in the summer, and outdoor excursions including snowshoeing again in the mountains. One year and thirty minutes later, I proposed to Bekah on that same cold piece of steel.

Bekah's take

I knew Paul had eyes only for me since Freshman year when we had our first of many science courses together;). When Paul volunteered to sit at the lab bench in physics lab first semester Sophomore year I was at I was excited-we had so many courses together but we never talked much and I was interested in the opportunity to get to know him. I thought he was cute;). He held his cool despite my excessive babble but eventually I think he caught on. Pretty soon I couldn't keep him away and the rest is history!

But in all reality, the hours we spent on homework together filled with butterflies threatening to escape and give away how excited/nervous I was, when he asked me on our first date, and the many absolutely amazing days with him since are all a part of the best days of my life thus far. I look forward to what God has in store for the both of us as we look toward our upcoming marriage and life together. The future may not always be known in full detail like we may wish but I know we have the greatest comfort that is in Christ and, God willing, a life in which we can help each other draw closer to Him.

Thank you all for supporting Paul and I thus far! We look forward to future hugs, laughs, and beautiful conversation with you all in the future!:)
