Paul and Maygan met in college in their campus ministry, spending lots of early morning and late nights in the library and in the cafe developing their friendship with Meg and Joe (see the wedding party!). It was obvious that they were good friends, and they became closer when the pandemic shut everything down, allowing them to slow down and become closer than ever. Through phone call and social-distance lunches, Paul and Maygan realized they shared mutual feelings for one another and soon after the new year, they made it official and realized just how fun it is to be with your best friend :)

Next to my dearest fiancée, Sam is my best friend. Sam is someone I can be completely vulnerable with and encourages me in all my endeavors. Thanks for being an extreme wild card so I’m always guessing what we’re gonna do next!

Big Thunk I mean Joe is one of my closest friends. Joe, Meg, Maygan, and I would spend countless late nights in the library and early mornings at the Caf during college. Joe’s got your back til the end of time and then some.

Marcus is one of my current roommates and was one of the first friends I made at the Piedmont Triad Church. Marcus is a breath of fresh air in a world that can feel so demanding at times. I’m glad this goofball’s gonna be standing next to me on this very special day.

Grant’s one of those guys who you can go a while without seeing and pick things right back up when you meet again. Grant was my first roommate when I moved out of my parents’ house so I learned a lot about how to be on my own with him right beside me.

If it wasn’t for Marvin, I would’ve never got to live in the White House…so thanks for that. In all seriousness, I’ve lived with Marvin longer than I have with anyone besides my family and enjoy the late night talks and bits that last way too long.

Through ups and downs, Brian has been both an inspiration and close friend to be around for the past six years. We could be joking around one moment then having deep conversations the next.

Meg has been a constant friend for many years. Studying in the library with her now husband, Joe, and Paul and I, eating many a meal, and living together, Meg is in some of my favorite memories. Meg is fun and goofy but also down to earth and real, she is always willing to help someone in need so I’m thrilled to have her stand up there with me!

One of my dear sisters, Emme is the one that made me a big sister. Her quiet strength and her amazing cooking skills have served our family well, the gene that seemed to skip me! (sorry Paul) I’m so glad to be her big sister and I’m glad she said yes to joining me on my big day!

The youngest of the Payne girls, also arguably the funniest. Holly has brought much joy to our family and now to Paul. I’m grateful to be one of your big sisters and to have you join me on my wedding day!

Carmen was my first friend when I left for college, and through her I met our wonderful church family, and by extension, Paul! Carmen’s love for people is evident and I’m so happy to be one of those recipients of that love.

Oh Phoebe!!  Phoebe and I met though church and survived (suffered through) nursing school along with fellow bridesmaid Rachel. Her love and fierce loyalty have encouraged me more than she knows! I’m so glad she agreed to be in my wedding (especially since it brings her back home, even for a little while!)

Rachel and I (along with phoebe) trudge  through nursing school together, and now we are coworkers! Seeing her smiling face everyday at work brings me so much comfort and encouragement, thank you for always listening to me!

Lia is in a class of her own, she’s amazingly smart and encouraging, she and I relate on so many levels. During the lockdown she and I got to bond over several TV shows, and became closer than ever. I’m thrilled to have her be with me celebrating my marriage!
