How we met:

Katie flew up from Florida to visit Brynn for her 21st birthday, where Brynn invited Paul to join them for lunch at Iwa Sushi. They spent the majority of lunch making eyes at each other and were quite inseparable for the duration of Katie's trip.

How our relationship started:

When that week was over, Katie flew home. On the layover in Chicago, she decided that she wanted to move home from Florida back to Washington (where they both grew up). She moved back in May, and they began dating June 18th, 2016.

Where did the years go?

Since then, there has been nearly 9 years of fun and love that they have experienced together. Vacations to New Jersey, Alaska, California, Las Vegas and many camping trips; Weddings for many family members and close friends; Births of nieces and nephews, friends' children and their own, and so much more that they have experienced together.

Our engagement:

On January 1st 2023, Paul took Katie out to Iwa Sushi. He surprised her by having the booth they first met in reserved. He had brought a secret (tall) gift box ahead of time for the server to bring to the table. While Katie tried to get the box open, he took his moment hidden by the box to get down on one knee and asked Katie to marry him. She (of course) said yes, and they spent the day celebrating and sharing our news with family.

The last two years:

On February 22nd of that year, they welcomed their son Austin into the world, and he changed their lives in more ways than they can count! In May, they bought their first home. Now they are just a few short weeks away from welcoming their baby girl, and a few short months from celebrating their love at their wedding with family and friends. They have come a long way, and can't wait to see what else their future together holds.
