Dress code

No tracksuits, no football colours (we can't believe we have to say this, but we live in Glasgow). Terrible ties are very welcome!

Accessibility

Ceremony (Govan Stones at Govan Old): There are 5 steps at the main entrance, and another 2-3 steps to get to the area of the post-ceremony drinks reception. The venue also has a small ramp (not a permanent fixture, please let us know if you think you will need it). Party (Savings Bank): Most of the venue has step-free access. There is an accessible bathroom with step-free access. Some tables and one of the dancefloors are upstairs, but the food, bar, most tables and seats, all the bathrooms, and another dancefloor are downstairs. Please contact us if you have any further questions about accessibility.

Gifts

It is rare that we get everyone we love into one place at the same time, so your presence at our celebration is the best gift we could ever ask for - especially as so many of you are travelling from far away. Please do not feel obliged to get us anything. We appreciate that some people may still be wishing to get us something, so we are currently creating a small gift registry - you can find it by CLICKING HERE. Alternatively, if you are travelling via duty free and want to get us something small, a bottle is always welcome. Paul likes gin, Dee likes Baileys and other low alcohol liqueurs. Or you can introduce us to your favourite tipple!(Please do not bring alcohol to the party venue - local legislation does not like that and we don't want you to get into trouble.)

Practical information

Ceremony:Please arrive by 13:00 for 13:30 start. Party:The venue is open from 15:30 onwards. Evening guests:From 19:00 onwards. Carriages 01:00.(Scotland has this legislation thing about licencing and closing venues by a certain time. Dee is heartbroken because weddings are not supposed to finish before dawn. Paul is relieved because he is a tired old man)

Timeline

Q + A

There are a few ways to get from the ceremony venue to the reception venue: * If you are driving or want to take a taxi, it is a 10 minute / 2.5 mile / 4 km drive. We recomment SPT Bridge Street car park, which is about 2 minute walk from the reception venue - but keep in mind it closes 23:30. (Sharing is caring, if you have space in your car or taxi please consider offering it to another guest.) * You can take the subway from Govan to Bridge Street - both of these stations are within 5 minute walk from their respective venues. You can buy a subway ticket from the machines or from the ticket office at every station. * You can take a bus (we do not recommend this option, but if you insist...): 26 Switch (run by McGill's) from Golspie Street or Govan Interchange to Centre Street; both are about 5 minute walk from their respective venues. X19 (run by Stagecoach) from Golspie Street or Govan Interchange to Midland Street at Glasgow Central (you will need to cross the river to get to the venue). You can buy a ticket from the bus driver.

Some of you may be looking for short term accommodation. Whenever we manage to get our hands on any deals, we will share them here. If you would like any assistance or advice, please feel free to reach out to either of us.
