The Journey Home

The story began at a deli counter, with a frequent customer named Paul, and a deli clerk named Celeste. They would exchange smiles during weekly interactions and when they did something was in the air, something neither of them could explain . As life went on the opportunity for Paul to connect with Celeste arose and he took the opportunity to reach out to her and tell her about how much he enjoyed her smile, and that he would like to get to know her more. After that the sparks began to fly as they began to spend time with each other during lunch breaks and summer evenings , until finally after after a month or so he asked her to go out on a proper date to dinner. It was that first date that ignited the flame between them, that made them realize they had a special connection. They continued to see each other for the next five months, introducing their fur babies and getting to know each others families but still unsure of what futures they wanted for each other. On the night of February 17th, 2021 , Paul took Celeste for a drive onto the frozen Cold Lake to go gaze at the stars on the clear night. It was there that he asked her to be his girlfriend. It was then their relationship began and shortly after their path was set, and that path led them to take a wild leap of faith and leave their home town to Kamloops, B.C. where they began an entire new life. Together with Paul's cat Homer and Celeste's dog Mac, they packed their cars as tight as they could, and with the help of a close friend, made the long trip to move to B.C. The journey here brought them new friends, new experiences, and a home of their own. They would usually take two to three trips home back to Cold Lake per year for family events and holidays. On the trip home for Christmas of 2024, Paul decided to pop the big question, and asked Celeste "will you marry me?", in a flood of emotions she replied "Yes!"They now set course on a new journey for a new horizon, FOREVER!
