In 2013, two 20 something year old's happened to go out to Hoboken, NJ. As one does when single and living in Bergen County. Unknown to them, they begin to journey down a path that is charted for a collision course. Giuseppe went out with his guy friends, as one of the only single guys in the group. They had a great night, and decided to end the night at The Shannon, an Irish Pub turned dance club at night. Giuseppe walked into a crowded dance floor and found a spot along the wall to hang out and drink his drink, not being a confident dancer after all. It was only a few minutes when Paula showed up with her group of friends and it so happened that she knew a bunch of the guys that Giuseppe was with. After everyone greets each other, Paula and Giuseppe introduced themselves to each other. She goes on to dance up a storm, and Giuseppe tries his best to not show any attention, but Paula didn't need any kind of opening. She walks over to Giuseppe and sticks out her hand he and in that same motion she pulls out Giuseppe to dance with her. He knew in that moment that he was in trouble. At the end of the night, they parted ways, not even exchanging numbers. It wouldn't be until a month later that fate brought them back together at a mutual friends birthday. Neither knew that the other would be there. Giuseppe was one of the first to arrive at the bar. He only saw Paula when he went outside to smoke a cigarette, a habit he has since quit! He went up to her to say hello, only to realize that she had no memory of him. No idea who he was, or of the dance they shared together a month ago. She must have liked something though, because at the end of the night, Paula reached over the bar, steals a bottle, and leaves with her good friend, the birthday boy and Giuseppe in tow. We all go to her house and the birthday boy passes out asleep. The rest of the night, until about 6:00 am, Giuseppe and Paula talk the night away. They talk about their likes, dislikes, their experiences, and their ambitions. They discussed life's big questions, like "Why does everyone make a big deal about Valentine's Day" which was right around the corner. Giuseppe saw an opportunity. After both agreeing how much they can't stand this holiday, he follows up with "What if, we both get together for dinner and hate this holiday together?" Paula agreed with a smile. The rest as they say... is history.
