Our Story

It all began in the summer of 2017, when Paula and Tom were both 3rd year students at the University of Guelph. Fate put them in side-by-side rental houses that shared a driveway. One sunny day, before classes had even started, they met in that driveway, completely unaware of how important that moment would become. As the school year kicked off and friendships blossomed between the two houses, Paula and Tom found themselves spending more time together. In the fall they went on their first official date, and by January 2018, they had become a couple. The two spent countless hours tucked away in the university library, where Paula often says she wouldn’t have survived her degree without Tom’s steady support, late-night coffee runs, and calm reassurance during crunch time. In their final year of undergrad they moved in together and, like so many others, navigated the highs and lows of pandemic life in lockdown. But they came out stronger (and with many completed Netflix series under their belts). In 2021, they bought their first home together in Cambridge - marking yet another milestone in their journey. Together, they have worked as a team to turn their house into a home, pouring countless hours into renovations, yard work, and all the little projects that are slowly bringing their vision to life. On September 13, 2024, during what Paula believed was a gifted getaway to the Pillar &amp; Post in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Tom got down on one knee and asked her to marry him. It was a complete surprise—and an easy yes! Together, they love camping, fishing, playing tennis, taking long walks with their dog Wren, and lounging on the couch watching shows like Survivor. After years of growing, laughing, and building a life together, Paula and Tom can’t wait to celebrate their next chapter with all of you!
