The beginning (of forever)

We met back in February of 2019 through a mutual friend. We met at a party…..I mean a study session….and we hit it off. We spent the night exchanging smart @$& comments back and forth. I beat him in a drinking game and he made me take a shot of orange Burnetts vodka. Believe it or not, that was the beginning of forever.

In April of 2019, after month of uneventful flirting, Evan finally made his move and we had our first kiss…..in the middle of Bandfest……in front of the entire school. All of our friends were waiting for this moment, so we were surrounded by lots of clapping and cheering. Not the most romantic thing in the world, but I guess you could say it worked. 2 weeks later Evan asked me to be his girlfriend. Then we spent 3 months being 5 states away.

We spent Evan’s 21st birthday in Jekyll Island. This was our first time seeing each other since we started dating, our first trip together, and where I met JoAnne and Larry for the first time. It was on this trip that we exchanged the L word. What can I say? When you know you know.

The college days

Coker gave us so many memories together!

So many travels

Our first Thanksgiving together, and Evan’s first time in Texas! (2019)

We spent our first anniversary in Florida (2020)

We were blessed enough to be a part of EJ and Amber’s engagement in Florida. This picture says it all.

COVID-cation in Georgia (2020)

Easter in Texas (2020)

Evan lived in Cleveland for about 6 months after graduation (yes, more long distance).

Back together again (briefly)

After Cleveland, Evan made his way back to “The -Ville” and we lived together for about 5 months (2021)

We started our little fur family with Boo and Lilo

Evan started his own business in Hartsville with his best friend. It was called HomeTeam Axe Throwing, and it was a hit!

Anniversary #2 in Myrtle Beach (2021)

More Long Distance…

After 5 months of living together, I had to return to Texas to prepare for PA school. From May of 2021-November of 2022 we saw each other 9 times. 9. Times. The longest stretch we went without seeing each other was 5 months.

We spent Evan’s 23rd birthday together in Texas, after he came to my family reunion for the first time. (July 2021)

We came together for EJ and Amber’s beautiful wedding on 9/18/21. We were so glad to celebrate their special day with them. Guess who caught the bouquet…. ;)

Gig ‘em! BTHO South Carolina!! (Oct. 2021)

Our first Christmas together in Georgia (2021).

My first break of PA meant a trip to Myrtle Beach to visit Evan. The weather was FREEZING! So much for a spring break beach trip, but at least we spent some time together. This was in March 2022, I wouldn’t see him again until June!

Evan’s first time down in Belton! We spent both of our birthdays and our 3rd anniversary apart this, so we crammed in all those celebrations into one weekend. (June 2022)

After 5 long months, Evan was able to come back to Belton for my white coat ceremony. Little did I know this was our last weekend as boyfriend and girlfriend… (11/11/22)

#BecomingTheBachmans

11/23/2022: the best day ever! He popped the question, I said yes. He proposed on top of the dock at my parent’s lake house. We were surrounded by both of our families, and it was the best proposal a girl could ask for. This day marked the first official day on the journey to #BecomingTheBachmans !!!

What’s next?

Evan and I have finally moved in together! After 3 years of intermittent long distance, we can finally make a home and begin the rest of our lives together. I will be doing clinical rotations until graduation in May 2024, and Evan will continue his business endeavors. We look forward to planning our wedding and celebrating with all of you!
