The Story of Us

Our story began in the spring semester of our freshman year in college—two paths crossing for the very first time, but at that moment, it was just that: two paths crossing. What we didn’t know then was that those seemingly random steps would lead us to something far more extraordinary than we could have ever imagined. Over time, we formed a close-knit group of friends, a circle that became more than just companions, but a family we could count on. And now, these very friends—the ones who have supported, laughed, and grown with us—are the ones who will stand by our sides on our big day. It’s a reminder that life doesn’t always follow a straight line; it’s the twists and turns that lead us to where we need to be. As many of you know, our love story wasn’t always easy. There were moments when neither of us was quite ready to grow up or commit to something life-changing. We tried to keep things simple—just friends—but the Lord, (and Kade;)), had other plans. There was a magnetic pull, something we couldn’t deny. And when you find your best friend in life, that’s who you want by your side forever. Through late-night Facetimes, “secret” date nights (which were anything but secret, haha), and countless tears and laughter, we figured it out. We made this work. As we focused more on each other, our love grew stronger, and the worries that once held us back disappeared. There was no more fear of commitment or growing up—just the pure excitement of what the future held for us. Our college years were spent growing not only as individuals but as a couple, surrounded by the friends who encouraged us along the way. Then came the moment when Kade graduated and Payton still had a little more to go. But before he left, Kade surprised her with the best gift ever—a promise puppy. That puppy became the glue that kept us close, and to this day, she still holds that place in our hearts. After six months of long-distance, Kade was ready to pop the question, and Payton was ready to start her next chapter with the man she loved. The proposal was everything we could have dreamed of—a moment that was as stunning and perfect as our journey together. Now, with Payton graduating and both of us starting new careers in St. Louis, we’ve found our first home together, and we’re planning the wedding of our dreams… in Mexico! We are so blessed and thankful for each of you who have played a part in and supported our relationship, and we feel so lucky to be able to celebrate this marriage with all of you.
