Other Travel Details:
For those traveling out of state, here are our recommendations:
Wisconsin (Driving)
If you'd rather not make the drive around Lake Michigan (about 6-9 hours depending on location), we recommend jumping on the historic SS Badger car ferry, which leaves Manitowoc, WI and arrives directly in Ludington.
The total travel time on the SS Badger is about 4 hours. Don't worry, there is a lot to do onboard! The Badger is known for "Badger Bingo", which is very fun, and can get competitive. There is also a movie theatre on board!

Additionally, the Lake Michigan Express car ferry leaves out of Milwaukee, WI, and arrives in Muskegon, MI (about 1 hr drive south of Ludington). This is a faster ferry option, with total travel time being only 2 1/2 hours.

Flying:
There are two main airports that we recommend flying into, to get to Ludington.
Gerald R. Ford International Airport (GRR):
GRR, located on the East Side of Grand Rapids, MI, is about a 1 hr 45 min drive to Ludington, from the southeast. This is the largest airport in West Michigan and is likely your best option for flying convenient airline fares.
Cherry Capital Airport (TVC)
TVC, located in Traverse City, MI, is also about a 1 hr 45 min drive from Ludington (to the northeast). It is a smaller airport but has recently added more direct fare options to accommodate its busy tourist seasos, so this may be a good airport to check on before booking travel!
