Their love story begins in 2016. Payton was freshman in high school and Brent was a sophomore. Growing up 30 minutes away from each other, and with their schools in the same conference they always ran into each other at sporting events. The first time they hung out Payton attended Brents regional championship basketball game. Brent asked Payton to be his girlfriend on March 20, 2016. They went through all of high school together from attending each others sporting events, proms, homecomings and many summer adventures.When college came they did long distance for four years while Brent studied Business at UW-Oshkosh and Payton studied Nursing at UW-Madison. Throughout college, they continued to share special moments together attending Badger football and basketball games, Packer games, Brents powerlifting competitions, and some weekends spent back at home with family and our niece, Parker and nephew, Cade. Some of their favorite memories together have been traveling the world. Together they have traveled to Switzerland, Italy, Dominican Republic, Mexico, Yellowstone National Park, South Carolina, Hawaii, Colorado, Tennessee and Disney World.In the fall of 2023, they decided to start planning for life together after Payton graduated college in May 2024. They bought land and built their first home together. They moved in this January and have been enjoying living together.In May 2024, they went on a two week trip to Italy. On May 17, 2024 Brent proposed in Florence, Italy in the Boboli Gardens. It was so special to have his sisters and their husbands there and it is a day they will both remember for the rest of their lives.
