Our Wedding

Richard&nbsp;and&nbsp;Peggy After&nbsp;losing&nbsp;her&nbsp;husband,&nbsp;John,&nbsp;on&nbsp;May&nbsp;20,&nbsp;2022,&nbsp;Peggy&nbsp;found&nbsp;herself&nbsp;lonely&nbsp;and&nbsp;yearning&nbsp;for&nbsp;companship.&nbsp;In&nbsp;January&nbsp;2023,&nbsp;she&nbsp;prayed&nbsp;to&nbsp;God&nbsp;for&nbsp;a&nbsp;new&nbsp;companion&nbsp;to&nbsp;share&nbsp;her&nbsp;life&nbsp;with.&nbsp;Someone&nbsp;who&nbsp;would&nbsp;love&nbsp;God&nbsp;and&nbsp;have&nbsp;a&nbsp;strong&nbsp;faith&nbsp;like&nbsp;herself.&nbsp;Someone&nbsp;who&nbsp;was&nbsp;caring,&nbsp;supportive,&nbsp;and&nbsp;had&nbsp;similar&nbsp;likes. Similarly,&nbsp;Richard,&nbsp;who&nbsp;had&nbsp;lost&nbsp;his&nbsp;wife&nbsp;Jeanne&nbsp;in&nbsp;March&nbsp;3,&nbsp;2023,&nbsp;was&nbsp;feeling&nbsp;lonely&nbsp;and&nbsp;looking&nbsp;for&nbsp;someone&nbsp;to&nbsp;fill&nbsp;that&nbsp;void.&nbsp;&nbsp; Feeling&nbsp;compelled&nbsp;to&nbsp;take&nbsp;action,&nbsp;Richard&nbsp;posted&nbsp;on&nbsp;Facebook&nbsp;expressing&nbsp;his&nbsp;desire&nbsp;to&nbsp;find&nbsp;someone&nbsp;to&nbsp;do&nbsp;life&nbsp;with.&nbsp;Also,&nbsp;with&nbsp;encouragement&nbsp;from&nbsp;Richard's&nbsp;grief&nbsp;group,&nbsp;he&nbsp;joined&nbsp;a&nbsp;dating&nbsp;site. &nbsp;Peggy&nbsp;was&nbsp;wondering&nbsp;how&nbsp;to&nbsp;find&nbsp;the&nbsp;man&nbsp;that&nbsp;God&nbsp;has&nbsp;for&nbsp;her.&nbsp;This&nbsp;prompted&nbsp;both&nbsp;Peggy&nbsp;and&nbsp;Richard&nbsp;to&nbsp;join&nbsp;various&nbsp;dating&nbsp;sites&nbsp;in&nbsp;search&nbsp;of&nbsp;a&nbsp;Christian&nbsp;partner&nbsp;with&nbsp;similar&nbsp;interests.&nbsp;Peggy,&nbsp;determined&nbsp;to&nbsp;find&nbsp;her&nbsp;match,&nbsp;signed&nbsp;up&nbsp;for&nbsp;three&nbsp;different&nbsp;apps&nbsp;in&nbsp;January&nbsp;2024.&nbsp;As&nbsp;they&nbsp;both&nbsp;searched&nbsp;and&nbsp;had&nbsp;connections&nbsp;with&nbsp;others,&nbsp;they&nbsp;weren't&nbsp;the&nbsp;"right"&nbsp;one. &nbsp;Then,&nbsp;in&nbsp;early&nbsp;February&nbsp;2024,&nbsp;Peggy&nbsp;put&nbsp;out&nbsp;an&nbsp;unspoken&nbsp;prayer&nbsp;request&nbsp;to&nbsp;her&nbsp;Bible&nbsp;Study.&nbsp;But&nbsp;only&nbsp;she&nbsp;and&nbsp;God&nbsp;knew&nbsp;that&nbsp;this&nbsp;request&nbsp;was&nbsp;that&nbsp;she&nbsp;was&nbsp;seeking&nbsp;a&nbsp;new&nbsp;companion. As&nbsp;fate&nbsp;would&nbsp;have&nbsp;it,&nbsp;Peggy&nbsp;and&nbsp;Richard&nbsp;began&nbsp;to&nbsp;notice&nbsp;each&nbsp;other's&nbsp;profiles&nbsp;and&nbsp;spent&nbsp;time&nbsp;browsing&nbsp;through&nbsp;them.&nbsp;Despite&nbsp;sending&nbsp;him&nbsp;a&nbsp;"smile"&nbsp;in&nbsp;February&nbsp;2024&nbsp;with&nbsp;no&nbsp;response,&nbsp;Peggy&nbsp;couldn't&nbsp;shake&nbsp;the&nbsp;feeling&nbsp;that&nbsp;God&nbsp;was&nbsp;guiding&nbsp;her&nbsp;towards&nbsp;Richard.&nbsp;Taking&nbsp;a&nbsp;leap&nbsp;of&nbsp;faith,&nbsp;she&nbsp;messaged&nbsp;him&nbsp;asking&nbsp;if&nbsp;he&nbsp;would&nbsp;like&nbsp;to&nbsp;chat,&nbsp;to&nbsp;which&nbsp;he&nbsp;agreed&nbsp;to&nbsp;meet&nbsp;for&nbsp;lunch. Their&nbsp;first&nbsp;date&nbsp;was&nbsp;set&nbsp;for&nbsp;Monday,&nbsp;April&nbsp;22,&nbsp;2024,&nbsp;at&nbsp;Liberty's&nbsp;Restaurant&nbsp;in&nbsp;Red&nbsp;Wing.&nbsp;Peggy&nbsp;made&nbsp;sure&nbsp;to&nbsp;take&nbsp;precautions&nbsp;to&nbsp;ensure&nbsp;her&nbsp;safety&nbsp;when&nbsp;meeting&nbsp;a&nbsp;stranger&nbsp;in&nbsp;today's&nbsp;world.&nbsp;As&nbsp;they&nbsp;met&nbsp;in&nbsp;the&nbsp;lobby&nbsp;of&nbsp;the&nbsp;restaurant,&nbsp;both&nbsp;Peggy&nbsp;and&nbsp;Richard&nbsp;were&nbsp;all&nbsp;smiles&nbsp;as&nbsp;they&nbsp;were&nbsp;shown&nbsp;to&nbsp;their&nbsp;table&nbsp;by&nbsp;the&nbsp;waitress.&nbsp;They&nbsp;bonded&nbsp;over&nbsp;ordering&nbsp;pizza&nbsp;and&nbsp;discovering&nbsp;their&nbsp;shared&nbsp;preferences&nbsp;for&nbsp;toppings.&nbsp;Their&nbsp;conversation&nbsp;flowed&nbsp;effortlessly,&nbsp;lasting&nbsp;for&nbsp;over&nbsp;three&nbsp;hours&nbsp;before&nbsp;they&nbsp;left,&nbsp;already&nbsp;planning&nbsp;their&nbsp;next&nbsp;date&nbsp;at&nbsp;Texas&nbsp;Roadhouse&nbsp;on&nbsp;Saturday&nbsp;evening.&nbsp;they&nbsp;shared&nbsp;a&nbsp;hug&nbsp;goodbye,&nbsp;both&nbsp;going&nbsp;away&nbsp;feeling&nbsp;hopeful.&nbsp; The&nbsp;time&nbsp;had&nbsp;come&nbsp;when&nbsp;their&nbsp;second&nbsp;date&nbsp;at&nbsp;Texas&nbsp;Roadhouse&nbsp;had&nbsp;arrived. Both&nbsp;Peggy&nbsp;and&nbsp;Richard&nbsp;felt&nbsp;a&nbsp;sense&nbsp;of&nbsp;compatibility&nbsp;during&nbsp;their&nbsp;time&nbsp;together,&nbsp;attributing&nbsp;their&nbsp;meeting&nbsp;to&nbsp;God's&nbsp;plan.&nbsp; As&nbsp;they&nbsp;sat&nbsp;and&nbsp;talked,&nbsp;the&nbsp;song&nbsp;"Keeper&nbsp;of&nbsp;the&nbsp;Stars"&nbsp;came&nbsp;on&nbsp;the&nbsp;radio.&nbsp;Listening&nbsp;to&nbsp;the&nbsp;words,&nbsp;they&nbsp;knew&nbsp;this&nbsp;was&nbsp;a&nbsp;sign&nbsp;from&nbsp;God. As&nbsp;they&nbsp;eagerly&nbsp;anticipated&nbsp;their&nbsp;future&nbsp;dates,&nbsp;they&nbsp;couldn't&nbsp;help&nbsp;but&nbsp;feel&nbsp;grateful&nbsp;for&nbsp;the&nbsp;chance&nbsp;encounter&nbsp;that&nbsp;seemed&nbsp;to&nbsp;be&nbsp;guided&nbsp;by&nbsp;the &nbsp;Keeper&nbsp;of&nbsp;the&nbsp;Stars. As&nbsp;their&nbsp;relationship&nbsp;continued&nbsp;the&nbsp;next&nbsp;couple&nbsp;of&nbsp;weeks,&nbsp;seeing&nbsp;each&nbsp;other&nbsp;almost&nbsp;every&nbsp;day.&nbsp;(a&nbsp;benefit&nbsp;of&nbsp;being&nbsp;retired)&nbsp;They&nbsp;soon&nbsp;realized&nbsp;how&nbsp;much&nbsp;they&nbsp;had&nbsp;in&nbsp;common.&nbsp;Similarities&nbsp;in&nbsp;their&nbsp;families&nbsp;and&nbsp;the&nbsp;experiences&nbsp;they&nbsp;have&nbsp;been&nbsp;through&nbsp;in&nbsp;their&nbsp;lives. Though&nbsp;they&nbsp;both&nbsp;missed&nbsp;their&nbsp;late&nbsp;spouses,&nbsp;they&nbsp;realized&nbsp;they&nbsp;were&nbsp;ready&nbsp;for&nbsp;a&nbsp;second&nbsp;chance&nbsp;of&nbsp;another&nbsp;love&nbsp;story.&nbsp;Seeing&nbsp;how&nbsp;God&nbsp;brought&nbsp;them&nbsp;together&nbsp;and&nbsp;seeing&nbsp;how&nbsp;God&nbsp;is&nbsp;forming&nbsp;this&nbsp;relationship&nbsp;through&nbsp;the&nbsp;unbelievable&nbsp;"little&nbsp;things"&nbsp;in&nbsp;their&nbsp;lifes.
