It didn't take long for them to figure out that they were the proverbial "one" for each other. Going to the same church, they had been aware of each other's existence as they were in the same friend circles. Their first in depth conversation was at a mutual friend's birthday party last year. At the same party, one of Pete's close friends indicated to Hannah that he was interested. That's when Pete realized "I gotta make my move!", but Hannah left the party before he could ask Hannah out in person. Not too long after the birthday, Hannah invited him to her Christmas party, thinking it would be nice to get to know him as a friend. He showed up halfway into the event, and stayed late talking to her and her roommate. Hannah realized that he might actually be interested. Adhering to the counsel of close friends, Pete messaged her later to ask if she was seeing someone, and if not, would she be available for coffee. Hannah responded no and yes, brief, but got the point across. They set a date for the Tuesday before Hannah left for Christmas vacation in Virginia. Unfortunately, Pete got sick, so their date became a phone call. Even over the phone, the chemistry was strong. They planned to have a second in person date when she got back from Virginia. At a New Years Eve party, they reunited, and Pete asked her out. Of course she said yes...and the rest is history!
