I have known Chris for 30 years, mainly because she's my cousin, but also because she became my closest friend along the way.

Matron of Honor - Chris Laird

Julie and I met 12 years ago while working as hostesses at the glorious Mike Ditka's steakhouse. We later lived together for four years where she earned the highly esteemed title of "cat step mom."

Maid of Honor - Julie (Mostaccioli) Minella 

Jenna and I met 8 years ago in our first job out of college. We have since travelled to over 7 countries together, in each of which we were asked if we were siblings.

Bridesmaid - Jenna Moniger

Iris and I moved to NYC on the same day as each other and met later that week. She has since been one of my favorite travel buddies (even if she did leave me for Canada.) (Edit - she moved back.)

Amanda has been my rock in NYC, she lives just a few blocks away so whenever she is home (which is way rarer than I'd like) I end up on her doorstep. When we aren't redecorating each other's apartments, you can find us at the park or local bar.

Hannah and I met in NYC and she has since become one of my closest friends. Hannah and her husband, Davis, (see Pete's pals for more Davis content) were traveling with us on our engagement trip and may be the reason I actually made it to the proposal (see photographic evidence above.)

Where should we stay?

We'll have a hotel block at the Box House Hotel, as well as For those wanting to explore the city there's an embarrassment of options within a train ride of the wedding venue. For those wanting to minimize effort to and from the venue, we recommend staying in Williamsburg

What's the dress code?

Chic Spring Cocktail Attire - I just made this up but I hope you see the vision, too. Florals, spring tones, I mean... we're really not picky and most importantly we want you to be comfortable. You're all going to look fabulous regardless. For the ladies - floor length/midi dresses or nice jumpsuits. For the gents - suits or slacks/chinos and blazers. Side note, the venue does have a retractable roof, and if weather permits we will absolutely be opening that sucker, dress accordingly!

What is the Best Pokemon?

Sam: Pikachu Peter: I object to this question philosophically, the term "best" is so subjective-- what do you mean? Do you mean best in the 1st generations OU tier matching up against tier giants like Snorlax and Amnesia Slowbro? Do you mean cutest, invoking the cute titans like Pichu, Cleffa, or the venerable Teddiursa? Perhaps, do you mean having the best character arc like Magikarp who, in an ode to a famous Chinese parable, evolves from a useless fish through dedication into a monstrous paragon of strength? Please take my most precious hobby more seriously and don't ask me these pedantic questions.

GENERAL TRAVEL RECOMMENDATIONS For those who don't know a lot about New York, this wedding is taking place in Greenpoint, a neighborhood in Brooklyn. You should be able to get to the venue within 40 minutes from most places in Brooklyn and Manhattan. If you're looking to make a fun weekend out of it, you can get a lot done from Thursday - Sunday night! HOTEL RECOMMENDATIONS The venue (Box House Hotel) has a room block. The discount code is "Du/Geanakoplos Wedding - 564422." You can enter this code in the 'requests/remarks' section when booking online or can mention this code over the phone to get the discount." Don't hesitate to check out other accommodations around the city, you are not beholden to this hotel and we would never limit your NYC extravaganza. Travel

Local Williamsburg and Greenpoint Activites 

Williamburg and Greenpoint are home to some of the best restaurants in NYC. Look up best restaurants online and try some out, I promise you won't be disappointed. Just make sure you reserve in advance, popular spots can book up early.

Park with amazing views of Manhattan. You can get tacos/bevvies at Tacocina, watch the dogs at the dog park, play volleyball, or sit and look at the views.

Domino Park

Another lively park with way more space for activities. You can go to the McCarren Park House for snacks or just spend time in the grass.

McCarren Park

An amazing food festival in Williamsburg. Takes place on the water front with great views and awesome vendors. This would be my number one recommendation for Saturday afternoon prior to the wedding. (Only open on Saturdays.)

Check out the NYC for FREE Instagram page the week before flying out. They post all of the free activities for that week on their page. Theres always a festival or activity happening. I made some suggestions below, but there is truly no limit for things to do in NYC.

Highest outdoor skydeck in the western hemisphere (according to their website.) But I have been and can confirm that the views are insane.

In another part of Brooklyn, but I have heard amazing things. And based on the time of year, you may even catch some cherry blossoms.

Le wedding! Welcome cocktails at 5:30pm. the ceremony will start promptly at 6pm. We have the venue until 11pm. We are confirming with the hotel but we should be able to head to the hotel bar after. From there, we are aiming to go to our favorite dive bar <a href="https://g.co/kgs/zJs6P92" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">The Charleston </a>for the best drink + free fresh made personal pizza combo in town.
