Brianna and Peter’s love story started in October 2020 with a swipe right, a bold mustache, and a pandemic that made their Bumble match feel like the global event of the season. It was their first date at Pitch that set their hearts on fire: Thai pizza, truffle fries, sangria, and a finale of ice cream — because Pete understands the value of dessert-based romance. That first date is also when Bri discovered Pete’s superpower: making her laugh so hard she knew he was something special. Spoiler: she was right.

On Valentine’s Day in 2021, Pete upped his game with a Marvel valentines pack, each card a custom masterpiece with personalized messages special for Bri. Just as she was thinking, “Okay, where’s the girlfriend card?”, Pete popped the question and asked her to be his girlfriend (officially). It was a modern love story that was quintessentially them.

Since then, Bri and Pete have embraced life’s greatest adventures, and its quirkiest moments. They’ve conquered long-distance, moved together to Colorado, built art out of LEGOs, and achieved Groot’s slow (but steady) approval of Pete as a treat-dispensing co-parent.

In 2024, Pete set the bar sky-high by proposing at Parker Library, the perfect setting for the future Mrs. Read. Then came the grand finale: a surprise brunch with some of their favorite people.

It’s no secret that Bri and Pete have mastered the art of balancing excitement and rest. One day it’s hiking through Big Sur; the next, it’s blowing up an air mattress for a movie marathon. Their next chapter? Moving back to Nebraska, adopting a Bernese Mountain dog, and continuing to prove that true love is equal parts humor, teamwork, and truffle fries.
