I asked Peyton on a date during winter break our senior year of college (after confirming she did not have any plans to ensure she would say yes) and we've been together ever since. We started officially dating less than three months later and shortly thereafter Peyton accepted a job in her dream city, NYC. We were not sure what that meant for our relationship at the time and continued dating through graduation and the summer.

More quickly than I would have liked she moved to NYC and we agreed to try a long-distance relationship. I was not prepared for the amount of facetime and travel it would require! I ended up in Tulsa for a couple months before moving to North Dakota. For the next three years we made the long-distance work and I spent many weekends in Peyton's tiny NYC apartment. We cherished our time whenever we were together and loved trying new restaurants, shopping and exploring the City.

We finally both moved back to Kansas City in the summer of 2022 where we got an apartment together. A year later I asked Peyton to marry me. We couldn't be more excited for the wedding and what the future holds!
