Our Story

In Peyton's Words...

Our story begins from a dating app. But not just any dating app, the one that is designed to be deleted. So...mission accomplished! #HingetoHitched

After a few weeks of messaging behind the safety of our phones Alex finally asked me out. I think it was obvious if we were going to work that we needed to test our personalities early on. So we decided on a barcade! And by some miracle we both survived, and almost 3 years later, here we are planning our wedding.

I remember my first impression of Alex was that his smile was contagious and his presence calmed me, even though he claims I seemed super nervous on the first date. He absolutely kicked my butt in pinball games and I dominated in air hockey. My favorite part of the evening was when we spent hours talking out back, and I'll admit I probably did most of the talking. Shocker I know. Maybe I was a little nervous. He made me comfortable enough to keep talking. I'll never forget that at one point when I was fidgeting with my cider glass, he gave me the sweetest smile that made my face flush and my stomach do flips. In some way though while I was blushing and my stomach was doing flips, I have never felt safer with someone.

April 11th, 2022 was the day of our first date

June 14th, 2022 was the day Alex asked me to be "his lady"

September 21st, 2024 was the day I said YES

October 17th, 2025 is the day our forever begins

In Alex's Words...

Peyton and I met on dating app called Hinge. She likes to claim that she made the "first move" but I definitely messaged her first. After a little bit of talking, I had to see what she was like on a date. After asking her multiple times to go out, she finally said yes. It was the one night off during the week she wasn't playing some sort of sport league.

Peyton made the suggestion of Boxcar, which is a barcade. I am a very competitive person, so if she could hang with me and not get frustrated with losing, then she might be the one for me. Come to find out, Peyton is just as competitive and she can be a bit of a sore loser. I beat her in pretty much everything except air hockey, and she'll never let me live that down....she'll still bring it up now.

Anyways, after playing all the games, we went outside and talked for a while. Peyton did most of the talking. She'll tell you she wasn't nervous, but I knew she was. I would talk when she needed a break or asked me a question to talk about me. But I knew after that first date I had to get to know her more and see her again. There was just something different about her.

After many failed date attempts later, we were able to hangout again and after a while, I started to figure out her weekly schedule and what days I could see her. I asked Peyton to be "my lady" on June 14th, 2022 and thankfully she said yes. There was a part of me that was nervous but I'm so grateful she didn't say no. I'm not exactly sure how much time passed but I slipped up first and told her "I love you". I swore she said it back immediately but maybe I was hearing things.

Then after way too long, or at least that's how it felt to Peyton, I finally found the courage to ask her to marry me back in September, and she said YES!

I can't wait for October 17th to come to start our new adventure together!
