I am travelling from Ontario, where should I fly into and how do I get to Canmore?
If you are flying in from Ontario it is recommended to fly into Calgary International Airport (YYC) as opposed to Edmonton. To get to Canmore it would be recommended to either rent a car for the weekend (more opportunities to explore the Rockies) or to take a bus or shuttle from the airport. Are kids welcome?
Although we wish we could invite all of our family, friends and their children, due to capacity we will be asking for it to be adults only at our reception.
What is the dress code for the wedding?
The dress code for our wedding is semi formal/cocktail attire.
What will the weather be like that time of year?
The average weather conditions for early October are warm - about 15° for a daytime high. We recommend bringing a light jacket or cover up just in case! The ceremony will be taking place outdoors however the reception will be inside.
What happens after the ceremony?
After the ceremony the couple, their families and the bridal party will be taking pictures nearby. Guests are welcome to do as they wish between the ceremony and reception. There will be transportation provided from the ceremony that will be making two stops, one back at the Solara Resort and the other stop will be downtown Canmore so guests can explore the various restaurants and shopping available. The reception will follow the ceremony and will start at 5:30 PM.
Will there be a bar at the reception?
Yes, guests will be provided a welcome drink as well as two drink tickets for the reception. After this, it will be a cash bar.
Will there be food served at the reception?
We will be serving a plated dinner, this will come with a soup or salad to start, a main course of either prime rib or chicken supreme with seasonal vegetables and a dessert.
There will be vegetarian options available, we will reach out shortly to confirm selections.
Where should guests park for the reception?
Guest staying at the Solara resort will have parking provided to them, otherwise we suggest utilizing paid transportation (cabs/Ubers) or there is limited street parking available outside of the resort.
