We met during Covid lockdowns. We actually met on a dating website first and agreed to meet in March 2020 to go on a date. At the time we went on our first date, COVID restrictions were just starting to ease up. Our first date included the shooting range, dinner at the Hard Rock Cafe, and a walk on the beach. Sean said, it was the shooting range because that was all that was open. Afterwards he let me know, we went on three dates.

Costa Rica Fishing the Osa Peninsula: seanborca — LiveJournal
Me and Sean had been having on and off conversations about getting married. I had been dropping hints and letting him know that I was receptive to the idea. He was occasionally making jokes about it and I would playfully slap at him. However, I didn't know that he really did have a plan.
I had come home from work and my kiddo was playing video games. We had eaten already and were kinda just chilling. You know, when everyone in the house is all doing their own thing in a quiet way. I was petting the dogs and looking at Instagram or snapchat or something like that. Sean was in the room and suddenly looked at me and jumped up excitedly.
Sean asked if I wanted to take a Mustang drive. I said, sure and asked him where we were going? He shrugged his shoulders and said he just wanted to go for a drive.
It was dark out and we drove for a bit. Sean was driving a little excitedly as well. We were driving fast and I figured maybe we were going to go out for a dessert or something. It was one of those really nice nights but it was also chilly. He kept asking me if I was cold and how did I feel. And I would say that I was fine. He asked if I knew where we were going, piquing my curiosity. I replied no.
We drove as it got darker toward the beach. We had gone to lots of little restaurants near the beach so I thought we might be heading for a surprise dessert treat. We parked next to the Atlantic Ocean and you could hear the waves crashing against the shore. It was night and the pier was lit with large white stars.
Sean grabbed my hand and took me took the pier where we kissed. We walked a short ways away where we were away from prying eyes and we faced the beach, leaned against the pier. There were stars in the sky and stars on the pier.
Sean and I talked for a bit and he told me he had a present for me and to close my eyes. I was scared and in my mind I absolutely thought it would be something gross. I reached my hand and felt something hard and cool to the touch. I said, what is it?
I opened my eyes and it was a box. I opened it and it lit up to see the engagement ring.
Sean looked at me and said, "Will you?"
I was shocked and so didn't immediately answer and then I laughed and said yes! I hugged him and we put the ring on. I was so nervous it wouldn't slip on my finger, and I would be embarrassed, but it slid on easily.
Sean looked at me and said, "I couldn't wait honey! Once I got the ring I couldn't wait to propose to you and get it on your finger!" I responded I love you Sean!
