The Story of How PB Met J

Picture of The Story of How PB Met J

I promise you ... the whole PB&J thing is not one that we have always been obsessed with - and Piero doesn't even like peanut butter & jelly sandwiches - but it was just too cute to not use for all things wedding-related.

This picture is from our first day dating on July 5th, 2024. I say first day, because our first date was coffee that morning, followed by soccer, followed by swing dancing (pictured), followed by a late night walk sharing each other's testimonies. We just kinda liked spending time together.

We met for the very first time at our church's young adult group 5 months prior, via one of the groomsmen, Angel, who is a mutual friend of both of us. Jessica was talking to Angel about something when Piero came right up in the conversation and gave both of us a classic Piero hug. He thought we'd already met some time before.

Fast forward to May and Jessica was talking to a girlfriend about guys in the young adult group who were "green flags" and she thought of Piero's kind and joyful heart. A couple weeks later, Piero and Jessica both started training for leadership with the before-mentioned young adults group. And Piero notices Jessica's love for the Lord and kind heart too. The month of June is spent in each of them trying to observe and spend time with the other person at events ... and then July comes.

Before Piero asks Jessica out, she's convinced she's imagining the whole flirting thing and her sister, Abby agrees she's being a bit delulu. BUT THEN. Piero's been praying about it and calls after work to say hey, I want to be intentional here and ask you on a date.

*Jessica swoons*

And we're back to day 1. We became officially boyfriend/girlfriend a week later after a romantic paddle board sesh at sunset and kissed for the first time on our 6th month anniversary in February of 2025.

There's lots of stories in between, like when she gave him cornrows or when both our cars broke down after the engagement, but overall we are grateful to our God for putting us together to experience this life side by side.

We pray he will use our marriage for His kingdom and His glory. And if you ever have questions about this pretty cool God, just ask :). We'd be more than happy to talk about Him.
