It’s interesting how someone can be around your world for the longest time, but you don’t meet until you are meant to meet.

We grew up in the rodeo world and have competed in the Indian National Finals Rodeo (INFR) circuit all our lives. We were probably at many of the same rodeos, yet our paths did not cross.

We joke about it now, but back in 2014, we both won the third round at the INFR winning the same buckles, but we were too focused on our own worlds to pay mind to each other’s.

Competing in the rodeo circuit, we both knew of each other’s names, and this is what sparked our initial interaction along the rodeo trail.

Our first get-together was a funny one. It ended with Steven bringing PJ back after a young befuddled time, as the gentleman he is, and receiving a cussing from PJ’s dad. It's funny to look back on now because, after this, Rick and Steven are closer than ever.

After this almost maybe moment, we did not talk for a year. PJ’s silly self-consciousness overruled, and we both went on with our lives.

With some realization, PJ remembered Steven’s gentle attributes and finally reciprocated the conversation.

From then on, we conversed daily, learning more about each other without meeting in person for the first half of 2023. We both value this connection because we got to know each other on a deeper level before we finally got to meet up.

INFR 2023 is where we finally met up in person, and while on our first date we knew it was love. Steven jokes and says, “I knew within minutes after meeting her, that I was in love”. After this, we made our relationship official.

Throughout 2024, we became a part of each other’s family, spending time in both South Dakota and Alberta. We joke that Steven officially became family after being a stand-by at Jake’s wedding. The place where we became heart throbs on the dance floor, literally break dancing on the dance floor. 🤭

Then INFR 2024 came, which was sentimental because as a family Steven, PJ, and Jake, competed, and it was where our path to marriage began. The proposal was heart-warming because Steven understood the importance of having both Jake’s and Rick’s blessing, and he made sure to get it before asking for PJ’s hand. Steven proposing at the 2024 INFR is also sentimental because INFR Vegas is where our love began and will continue this year, just before the 2025 INFR.

Come October 12, 2025, there will be one less Fox and one more DeWolfe, as this will be our wedding day.

We are so thankful for all the love and support we have received thus far, and we hope to see you in Las Vegas during this time.
