Simon officially asked Poli to be his girlfriend on March 24th 2023, after attending his Sister and Brother-in-Law's graduation dinner with her as his plus one. Later that evening Simon took Poli on a walk to the temple. Laying down in the grass in front of the gates Simon said "I don't want you to be my friend anymore." Poli was shocked, then he said "I want you to be my girlfriend." It was a very exciting night for both of them.

Poli loves her "5am club" which is what she likes to call her 5am gym routine. Simon wanted to impress Poli and so he woke up SUPER early and was able to surprise her at they gym for her 5am club. Unfortunately this was the first AND LAST time Poli has ever seen Simon wake up this early for... literally anything.

Simon took Poli on one of their first dates. This was Poli's first introduction to Dim Sum. Poli fell in love with the "chive pancake" as she likes to call it. It is now something she craves regularly and often begs Simon to take her to Dim Sum. While Poli is very happy when they go get her "chive pancake", Simon's wallet is often crying.

During the summer, Simon participated in the BYUH Canoe race. Poli came as moral support because she does not like deep water. By the end of the race Poli and Simon were both very happy but for different reasons. Simon was happy because his team got 3rd place which is awesome! Poli was happy because her Malaysian land-bound boyfriend who LEGIT cannot swim didn't drown or get flipped over in his canoe.

Simon and Poli with some friends hiked the Stairway to Heaven. Poli, being born and raised in Hawaii thought this was stupid and only tourists with a death wish did this hike. But of course love is blind AND dumb so she agreed to do this hike with them. Simon was worried that this hike would be a trial for their relationship since its like 5 hours uphill and Poli is a princess, not an olympic athlete. But to him and his friend's surprise Poli outperformed all of them in mental and physical endurance. Poli had a lot of fun but we can't say the same for everyone else...

This was New Years, Simon took Poli to see the fireworks in front of the temple. Poli thought Simon was going to propose... then he didn't. Poli still has hope it will happen soon tho.

This was Chinese New Year, Poli once again thought Simon was going to propose... he didn't. Poli stayed hopeful even though she wasted another cute outfit.

This is Poli and Simon's one year anniversary. As you can see Simon proposed! Poli is very happy and excited to be a wifey and have cute asian babies. Simon is excited that he no longer has to do laundry by himself or clean, good thing Poli loves cleaning.
