About

The temples of Khajuraho, a UNESCO world heritage site, were built between 9th and 10th centuries by the Chandela dynasty, who dominated central India at the time. Khajuraho was peacetime capital for these powerful rulers at the time.

How to get here

Air:

Khajuraho has direct flight to and from Delhi. Other major airports also offer flights to Khajuraho.

Land:

Khajuraho is an 8 hr drive from Delhi. It is connected by railway system and roads to all major cities.

Day trips near Khajuraho

Panna National Park (16 mi/25 km from Khajuraho):

Primarily known for Bengal tiger sightings, Panna National Park is an easy 30 min commute from Khajuraho. This park has lots more to offer with more than 250 bird species and other wildlife.

Note: We can arrange transport if a big group is interested in visiting. We recommend staying an additional day or two to truly experience this area.


Raneh water falls (15 mi/24 km from Khajuraho): Waterfall surrounded by granite. You can spot alligators here. It takes approx 40 mins to get here.


Pandav falls (34 km from Khajuraho): Located inside Panna National Park, this waterfall has ancient caves located on its foothills.
