Our Story

Prerna's POV -

I remember sitting at the Chicago airport last summer, I called my best friend Tori to update her on my trip and just my whole summer since I hadn't spoken to her in a while. She asked about how my dating life was going, I told her it was pretty non-existent at that point so she recommended I get back on the dating app and try again and see how it goes. I decided to download Mirchi, an Indian dating app and see where it takes me and if I have any luck. Just before getting on my flight back to Houston, I made my profile and started swiping, and that's when I saw Pree's profile, I smiled the moment I saw his tag line which said "Unlike Cardi B, I cook and I clean", I was like okay, he seems funny, lets swipe right, so then I swiped right, turned my phone off and boarded my flight to Houston.

Once I got home, I opened the app to see that Pree had matched with me too and he sent me a message asking about my favorite food! We then started talking about everything, from our favorite foods, to our favorite punjabi music to traveling the world! Without even realizing, three weeks had already gone by with us sending paragraphs a day to one another!

Preetesh's POV -

After a summer full of traveling on my last group trip, one of my friends recommended I try Mirchi out again, which I had deleted years ago. Never did I think it would lead to anything at all, because I am a very interactive person and didn’t have any luck before. I thought let me give it a shot and see what happens. After a week of being on the app I was getting ready to head to Washington to spend some time with my Nani. As I was leaving for my drive I saw a new like on my profile, 1827mi away…. just great! but she was a huge foodie and seemed like she enjoyed traveling as well. I decided to drop a few lines and reach out and see where this goes. Not having any expectations we started messaging back and forth. The messages started getting longer and longer. My family and friends were surprised because replying back to texts is a real chore for me, but something about Prerna kept me going and wanting to know more, and just like that 3 weeks had gone by.

Our POV -

Once we started talking, we realized it had been almost 3 weeks of just constant texts back and forth and we still hadn't even talked on the phone! So that's when we decided we have to figure out when to see each other. During our conversations over the past few weeks we both talked about how we like AP Dhillon and since he was just starting his tour in the US we thought this would be the perfect opportunity for us to meet, at one of his concerts! We planned everything out, bought our tickets to his concert and the rest is history! The second time we met, Preetesh came to Houston to meet my family and after that I went to Portland to meet his family and that's when everything just started to fall into place.
