Chris and Preslee met in the most unexpected of places - in High School orchestra class in 2016 (naturally, the tallest boy and tallest girl couldn't miss each other). After months of glancing at eachother from across the room, Chris finally mustered the courage to talk to her and it wasn't long before they realized how much they had in common - loving the beach, camping, music taste, and humor kickstarted their bond. They have shared life’s highest of highs and lowest of lows together, growing stronger through every moment. From the excitement of prom and graduations to thrilling adventures like surfing, snowboarding, concerts, and seeing the world together, their journey has been filled with unforgettable experiences. They navigated the difficulties of a long-distance relationship during their time at separate colleges, opposite schedules, evolving career and life paths, and the heartbreak of losing loved ones, Chris and Preslee have been each other’s constant. Together, they’ve built dreams, faced setbacks, and found resilience in one another. In August of 2023, Chris told Preslee to pack her bags for somewhere coastal with two weeks of notice. Disguising it as an end-of-summer getaway, Preslee had no idea what was in store, or even where they were going for that matter. Catalina Island was a place they've always dreamed of going and Chris had the whole trip planned in detail. After a day of exploring the island, swimming in the ocean, and relaxing at the beach club, they returned to prepare for the top-secret evening event. While getting ready, Chris hid in the bathroom excitedly terrified for what was to come next. He called a taxi to bring them to the top of a cliff overlooking the breathtaking Avalon Harbor. Preslee was clueless as to what they were doing, and he led her down the hill to a private lookout known as Buena Vista Point. Chris had arranged for a photographer to be at the lookout point, but a plan was in place to ensure he didn't spoil the surprise. As they approached, the photographer casually pretended to be taking pictures of the bay. Chris walked over and politely asked if they could pause to take a few quick photos before getting out of his hair. The photographer said 'sure no problem!' and stepped away—secretly positioning himself to capture the moment. As Preslee had her back turned taking pictures of the bay, Chris nervously fumbled to retrieve the ring completely stuck in his pocket. And, after what felt like an eternity, he finally managed to get the ring out, dropped to one knee, and asked Preslee to spend the rest of her life with him. That unforgettable moment was followed by faces sore from laughter and smiles, and the night was concluded by a romantic dinner on the water while they elatedly called their loved ones to share the good news. After a long time waiting, they are so excited to spend the culmination of their years of laughs, tears, and a whole lot of love celebrating together with all of you! Newly remodeled in 2022. The cabin is perfect for our group of 4 adults, 3 children, and one infant.
