We both moved into our freshman dorms on the second floor in Ben Reifel Hall!

Preston's cousin, Shelby, and I became friends instantly in our freshman seminar.

Preston failed to introduce himself in September because I didn't hear him. However, Shelby officially introduced us later on and the three of us became the best of friends! Preston believes I ignored him in September; however, I believe what he had to say must have been boring enough to not get my attention.

As best friends, we watched the television show Jack Ryan in my dorm room and made the pact to get married in five years if we were single. We (Preston) even planned our "future wedding reception" at the 9 Bar in Brookings on pitcher night.

A couple weeks later, we expressed our feelings for each other after months of being best friends.

After a month, we locked down a relationship title in the midst of the pandemic!

First trip to the Black Hills together!

On our 4th trip to the Black Hills, Preston proposed in Spearfish Canyon surrounded by some of our closest friends!
