The official language in the Philippines is Tagalog/Visaya. However, most of the locals speak English so it is very easy to communicate and understand each other!

The official currency of the Philippines is Philippine pesos. $1 US dollars is equivalent to 54.31 PHP. We recommend downloading a conversion calculator on your phone! The Philippines heavily use cash in local restaurants and shops. Most of the ATMs in the Philippines have long lines and sometimes will run out of cash to withdraw, so we recommend withdrawing sufficient cash funds in U.S. banks or airports.
