It all started when Promise received a random Instagram message from Ebeth on February 8, 2022...

“PROMISE!!!! I have an invasive question, I mean not really.... Just slightly. I know a guy that you MIGHT-maybe vibe with idk but first I'm wondering, Are you single as a Pringle? 🥸🤪”

Promise, although surprised, answered...

"Hey! Lol yes definitely 😂"

Ebeth then asked Promise a few get-to-know-you questions to see if she made the right call with this possible match.

The next day, when Promise asked Ebeth out of curiosity who this guy was, Ebeth let her know that she would not be sharing that information to avoid the risk of being "too invasive".

Anywho, after few months had passed, this whole mystery man ordeal had been pushed into the back of Promises mind.

It was especially out of sight and out of mind because that summer, in June 2022, Promise had found out that she had received a job offer at Word of Faith Southfield and was moving to Michigan! This move happened swiftly and seemingly came out of nowhere! Everything about it was so obviously God's plan that it was impossible to ignore the peace she felt amid all the anxiety and inner turmoil that could come from moving to a whole new place on her own.

Ebeth was incredibly excited about the news of Promise's move (for obvious reasons) and began to make several attempts behind the scenes to set Josef and Promise up. At one point, while they were still living in Michigan, she even tried to set up an ice cream meet-up situation that neither of them was aware of until they connected the dots much later.

In a final attempt to get Promise and Josef to meet without being "too invasive", she let Promise know that she left a box of housewarming things for her before she and the family left for Pensacola. She also let her know that those things were left at -- you guessed it -- Josef's house.

Meanwhile, the entire time Ebeth was making all of these funny and sneaky little moves, Josef had been looking everywhere for Promise at church to talk to her himself. He'd even started asking around. At the time, Promise sat on the opposite side of the church from where he sat, far enough away that he would not have been able to see her. It didn't help that he barely knew what to look for since they hadn't officially met or seen each other in person.

A little after Anjolo and Ebeth had officially moved, Promise received her first message from Josef...

“Hey! I’m Anjolo and Ebeth’s brother.

Ebeth left a box of things for you before they moved so I just wanted to say hi and maybe set a plan to bring the box for you after church sometime this week?”

They then scheduled to meet up the next day for Promise to receive the box in question.

On Wednesday, August 24, 2022, Promise and Josef officially met in the Word of Faith lobby. Both nervous and slightly awkward they introduced themselves as though they hadn't been hearing each other's names for months. Promise left the church that evening not only with a box of stuff but with a possible friend... or maybe more? She made a point not to think too deeply about it and so did Josef.

A short while later, Josef suddenly began walking Promise to her car after church services, and they immediately clicked! They talked, they laughed, and they quickly realized that they wanted to get to know each other even more. On one of those walks, Josef officially asked Promise out on their first date and...
