Here are our tips for traveling and lodging.
As we are not residents of Newport, Rhode Island, we do not have personal tips and pointers for traveling to the towns. With occasional visits, we can tell you that it's a pleasant touristy drive around town and is not in line with Boston's hectic driving and traffic!
If you prefer flying straight to Rhode Island, the closest airport to the wedding venue is Newport State Airport (UUU) with other nearby airports (North Central State Airport, Quonset State Airport, and Rhode Island T.F. Green International Airport).
We have reserved a hotel room block (2 Queen beds or 1 King bed) for Thursday, October 17 and Friday, October 18 for our guests. You can book online by using the group code and the website link provided or by calling the phone number provided. Make sure to mention the Dang & Le Wedding Room Block when speaking to an agent. The deadline to book your room(s) at the discounted group rate is August 19, 2024.
This ocean view resort was also where we got engaged, so we want our guests to enjoy their stay and create as many beautiful memories as we did while we were there. Reach out to us if you have any questions about your room booking.
We will not have a shuttle bus to and from the wedding venue, so please plan your transportation accordingly. There will be plenty of free parking space at the venue.
If you plan on flying in a few days before the wedding and would like to explore Boston, we recommend flying in to the Logan airport as it is right at the heart of the city. There are various modes of transportation to get you to and from the airport including airport shuttles (Silver Line 1 / SL1) that take you directly to the central train station (South Station) for free. From Boston to the wedding venue is an approx. 1-hour drive with no traffic.
South Station connects directly to the airport (via the Silver line shuttle bus SL1). It also connects with Amtrak and the Red line which connects to other lines to reach other parts of Boston.
There are plenty of Airbnb and hotel options in the Greater Boston area. Our best recommendations:
1. Stay further south of Boston (closer to Rhode Island) for more affordable lodging options.
2. Plan your transportations as parking rates in Boston can be expensive.
