It's a tale as old as time, we met at a bar. But not in the way you might expect.On December 19th 2021, Katelyn was invited to go to her childhood best friend’s birthday party at a local cidery in Puyallup. Being an introvert with a low social battery, she almost didn’t go, but she decided to take a chance and go out for the evening to see her friends.&nbsp;At the same time, Quintin was home from college on winter break and his family asked him to work a party that was scheduled at their cidery for the evening. Thinking he’d pick up a little extra spending money in tips, he agreed to be the bartender for the event.&nbsp; And just like that the story began.&nbsp; At the party Katelyn noticed the cute bartender immediately, but obviously knew the golden rule “If you think someone is cute, you definitely do NOT engage!” so she spent most of the party watching him from afar, but also conveniently finding excuses to go and order more cider.&nbsp;Quintin, on the other hand, was eagerly awaiting the last call so he could go home, and was completely oblivious to Katelyn's repeated visits.&nbsp; The night could have easily ended very differently, with both going home, unaware of the opportunity they just missed. BUT the universe, in the form of a slightly intoxicated Christi Gillette, had other plans. Christi watched the sad attempts Katelyn was making and decided to take matters into her own hands. She dragged Katelyn over to the bar and demanded that they talk to each other. Thankfully, it worked! Katelyn gave Quintin her number and that was that, the ball was officially in his court.&nbsp; All Katelyn could do was to wait to see if Quintin would decide to text her. Little did she know how close it came to that not happening. You see, after the party, Quintin had been cleaning up and had the brilliant idea to look into the top of one of the orchard heaters, because in his words “I thought it would look like that one scene from Chernobyl” so he did, and ended up burning off a pinky’s width of his hairline… Apparently, if it had been any more drastic, he wouldn’t have texted.Thankfully, the heater spared that additional finger’s width of hair and Quintin decided to text the next day.&nbsp;&nbsp; And the rest, as you know, is history.
